Okay, that was a while ago admittedly, but you never specified exactly when before the Cheesy Song.

I meant on Moyles' breakfast show.

I'm sure it was something with a similar tune. The first breakfast show had an extended song (which actually mentioned the Simon Mayo intro at one point) and I think Cheesy Song's tune is related to it.

They used to have a five-minute link before the news at 7:00 in which they would usually do a hand-over link or just talk about arbitrary things - no special opener.

They did used to play Classical Class though at about ten past seven then go into a song....my god the opening links were so short back then. Guess that was why Ramble was such an important feature.

I miss the handovers between Chris and JK and Joel and then Fearne on a friday.

He wasn't though, was he? Surely Steve Wright and Chris Evans were after him?

See, it shows how long since I listened to that first show  I know there is definately a line about someone (Evans I imagine) giving way to the girls or something... I'm going to have to search it out now

Hi Guys

First post and all that but would like to offer my two cents on the issue.

The Cheesy Song has become something of a fixture on the show. It's like the perfect alarm clock. Ok so it says 'brand new Cheesy Song' when it is not that new but if it ain't broke don't try to fix it.

Personally I love waking up to it and the chat between Chris and the gang after it.

I think it's has as much a place in the show as the Tedious Link and Car Park Catchphrase.

I think it should stay but as I say that's just my view.

Tedious Link must be the longest running feature Moyles has ever done? It was carried over from the afternoon show - not that I don't enjoy it, when I get the chance to listen to it, it really makes me smile.

Tedious is great. Its a daily foray away from the playlist, which is always a good thing. I loved today's song.

I like the tedious link cos it digs out a classic from the archives. Same with the Golden Hour.

Never get the chance to listen to it cos I'm in uni on Fridays but we've got half the morning off tomorrow so I'll be listening for the duration. Best one I've heard has to be the one from Halloween. So many classics there.

Moyles delivered us the Cheesy Song, it was a great part of radio history. Before this momentous long jingle it was just a bit of banter with JK, and the Joel for 5 minutes. Once you have something thats as big as Cheesy, its very difficult to follow, you can't just go back to what we had on the 7am starts, good though it was.

I would miss Cheesy, it certainly isn't 'broke'. But if Moyles - and all the confidence he possesses - thinks he can better it, then why not? I would look forward to it, the man continues to deliver.

We both forgot Mark & Lard as well, even though that show was only on air for a very brief period of time

I think that's it exactly.
