The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Just listening to Radio 1 (c.14:20 Sat 22 Nov 08) when Zane mentioned Chris Moyles, to which comedian(!) Burns commented "I'm not interested in what an alcoholic did the night before!"
CHARMING.
So, Chris, you are percieved by those who neither listen to you or know you, as an alcoholic!!!!
When I heard this, Zane Lowe was somewhat defensive in Chris's corner, which I applaud.
I soppose opinions are like arseholes - EVERYBODY HAS ONE!!!
That is all.

Theres ALOT of people that seem to slag off Chris. He was also being slagged off by Phil Jupitus on Never Mind The Buzzcocks this week.

It seems that BBC programs slag him off, the company he works within and yet Channel 4, a 'rivel' (i guess) dont.

But yet if these people had something to plug i bet they'de be Chris' best friend then!

I agree about not knowing who Brendan Burns is, but have you seriously never heard of Phill Jupitus?! Buzzcocks slags just about anyone and everyone off. Even Amstel got his comeuppance this week!

I know who he his....when someone posted this clip on a messageboard! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq8nG_ZMhA8

Apparently he's an Aussie comedian. In the clip, a lady heckles him because she seems to have a complex about racism. Burns is making jokes AGAINST racism, but for some reason she thinks he's 'always looking at her' when he makes the jokes....oh and she's an Asian lady. Paranoid much? To be honest if the comics didn't look at the crowd, that'd be quite a freaky show.

The clip is NSFW as he's a sweary sweary Aussie.

I've always been amazed at the huge amount of hate people tend to feel towards Chris Moyles when they don't listen to the show. I don't know anyone in 'real life' who actually likes him, which is a shame.

Yeah, me too.

I know lots of people that admire him and know of him but have never listened to one of his shows and have therefore made their own mind-up about him/the show.

I know lots on both sides of the argument actually, but only very few who still don't like him and have listened recently.

My missus is a fence sitter. She constantly goes on at me about how much she can't stand him and all he does is chat instead of playing songs but whenever I forcer her to listen to the show she normally cracks a smile. CPC on Thursday had her in stitches......Too many cooks in the broth?

I'm the same. I always figured it was a Scottish thing (* knows why, breakfast radio here is dire).

More worrying, it's popular here. Both my parents are forever telling me what a funny wind up Robin Galloway did on Real Radio. I've listened to them, they're shit. He's not funny. And best of all, he DOES have sycophants telling him how great he is. As does George Bowie over on Clyde. Which is a surprise, you wouldn't think they had time in between all those adverts.

Seriously, when Chris eventually chucks breakfast, I'll probably chuck the radio.

I used to listen to Robin Galloway in the days of Scot FM (it keeps you in touch dontcha know). I dont think he has changed his act since then. Does he still have Old Mrs Galloway calling up unsuspecting receptionists to tell them she is stuck in the boot of her car?

And whatever station Plunge McNugget is on (I have a feeling it might be Clyde) irritates me - my boss sits next to me doing really bad impressions of him constantly. It's cringeworthy, but everyone else sits and does the same sycophant thing to her as they do on the radio and tells her its funny.

Sounds like a new way to cook junk food.

I'm not even sure who Plunge McNugget is. I think it's just another name for Suzie McGuire. Or maybe she's just a nugget with a plunging neck line*...

* For those not aware of local Scottish radio, Suzie McGuire is incredibly annoying but does have large breasts.

Nah, its a character created by one of the male djs. Im 99% sure he is on Bowie at Breakfast.

Suzie used to do the phone-in in the evenings. That always made for a good giggle.

She always spoke with the most dramatic, deeply caring voice possible:

"And on now, we have Mary in Pollock. Mary, whats happened?"
"Well Suzie, my boyfriend has just told me that he has another girlfriend that he has just got pregnant and that I need to move out. I'm standing outside my flat just now cos he has changed the locks and all my stuff is in an Asda bag beside the door. I haven't even had anything eat apart from the slice of toast he put through the letter box."
"Oh Mary, thats terrible. We should ask the listeners what you should do."
"That would be great Suzie. I just feel sorry for his wife. She doesn't know anything about this yet!"
"Well, my thoughts, and I'm sure the rest of the nations, go out to you tonight. Now here is a special tune for you - its Katrina and the Waves and Walking On Sunshine!"
