Sorry to bring up an old topic but i knew Chris would get brought up in this whole row:

Mr Tait said the offence of the original broadcast was compounded by Russell Brand's appearance on Chris Moyles's Radio 1 show on 21 October, when the pair talked about the incident.

He said this discussion, in itself, was also in breach of editorial guidelines in respect of privacy, offence and the fact it was broadcast at a time when children were likely to be listening.

Well they did mention it, the audio of it is in the sound vault, but as always hindsight is a great thing. I presume the interview was done before the Daily Mail decided to cry foul

No doubt the Daily Heil will be calling for him to be sacked as well however Moyles can't control his guests 100% of the time (look at Louis Walsh this morning when he referred to Drum & Bass as sh*t, that weren't Chris' fault or provoked by him at all.

I don't imagine for a minute that Chris invited him exactly. Russell Brand - like everyone else who goes on (with the exception of the careers week people perhaps) is there for one reason only, to sell something. Brand has a new book out.

Possibly because he has always been a great guest and has been scored as such by the team!

This whole affair is a big win for the Daily Mail and its readers a big loss for anyone who thinks that good comedy when improvised sometimes does walk a thin line and inevitably from time to time crosses it, but so what?

The Daily Mail gives me that gag reflex thing. Why do I never learn? Picked it up the other day in the cafe as I'm an avid reader of anything that is hanging about and got so p*ssed off that I almost lost my coffee and toast!

I might actually try reading it sometime for a laugh. I've only ever heard people say bad things of it, and yet it seems to be quiet popular / influencing.

I want to know why.

I'd say don't do it Mr Loose, it is a very unpleasant newspaper. I generally go for the crossword because I can always finish it. Mainly because it's so bloody easy. What does that say about people who actually read the rest of the crap printed on the other pages beforehand I wonder though?

As for the Daily Mail, I think it's what's termed a 'middle market' paper - it's a tabloid, but it goes for those who consider themselves (wrongly in my opinion) to be above the red tops. It's the second or third highest selling paper in the country and as The S*n is the highest selling, that tells you a lot about the newspaper-buying public - and also tells you why they both have a lot of influence, unfortunately. They go in for sensationalism just as much as The S*n does.
