I've somehow made it to the final assesment stage of my Waitrose interview despite missing my telephone interview (not my fault), turning up 3 days early to the group interview then 40 mins late (bastard mini Hitlers at the train station to thank for that) and thinking throughout the whole process "why oh why did I just say that?" Some of the great managerial expertise I demonstrated included:
Everyone has to work through their lunchbreak sometimes (against the law)
I can't stand corporate buzzwords, they sound like utter crap and don't get me started on motivational posters.
I'm just not much of a thinker really.
Although the rest of the time I was * great! I now have to have an in-store assesment although I'm confident about that as I'm great at face to face stuff.
Everyone has to keep their fingers crossed for me from now on. I REALLY want this job.
I always found Waitrose one of the better ones to deal with Andy. They have no shareholders and are owned by the staff themselves, so there is good job security and a general feeling of team work. They are very old fashioned in many ways so not liking techno speak would have been a plus, and stating you have to work though your lunch hour although not strictly legal, the fact you admitted it showed you to be honest and hardworking, perversely.
Not be a thinker ??? Contemplating your navel, and questioning what you have been told what to do, again it's a plus mate.
Being late though..... I wouldn't risk it again. There really arn't any excuses for being late ( although of course there are, it's a reflection on you that you don't ever use them)
best of luck. Have you been going to Bracknell?
