I am so hungry, I need to fill this belly up with some good food.

I wanna go for a pint, I wanna get me some pub food
Maybe a XXXXX just to put me in the right mood

I like the girl behind the bar and I‘ve even met the landlord
I like the soup of the day and the specials on the black board

I‘ll order up at the bar and take number 34
XXXX
the cutlery is on the bar with ketchup and vinegar
I just want my dinner to hurry up

I wanna have lunch in this pub, in this pub, in this pub
I wanna have lunch in this pub, in this pub, in this pub

I‘ll have the garlic bread to start and the fish pie for my main course
I need to satisfy this hunger, got the appetite of a horse

I got my XXXXXX behind the bar in case I wanna get some pudding
I‘ll have the cheese cake and the crumble and the apple pie with ice cream

My table is 22 just next to the ladie‘s loo
and today‘s special desert is tiramisu

I‘ve got some more cutlery, my tummy feels real ready
I‘m just loving my pub lunch in this lovely country

I wanna have lunch in this pub, in this pub, in this pub
I wanna have lunch in this pub, in this pub, in this pub

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not sure if what I understood is right and I put XXXX where something is missing. Thanks x

I wanna go for a pint, I wanna get me some pub food
Maybe a ploughman's or lasagne just to put me in the right mood

I like the girl behind the bar and I‘ve even met the landlord
I like the soup of the day and the specials on the black board

I‘ll order up at the bar and take number 34
on the wooden spoon to put on my tabletop
the cutlery is on the bar with ketchup and vinegar
I just want my dinner to hurry up

I wanna have lunch in this pub, in this pub, in this pub
I wanna have lunch in this pub, in this pub, in this pub

I‘ll have the garlic bread to start and the fish pie for my main course
I need to satisfy this hunger, got the appetite of a horse

I got my card? (sounds like a bad editing job though) behind the bar in case I wanna get some pudding
I‘ll have the cheese cake and the crumble and the apple pie with ice cream

My table is 22 just next to the ladie‘s loo
and today‘s special desert is tiramisu

I can't be the only one wondering what you're studying...?

Well I know that my old uni offers a course in pub studies where you learn the difference between a free house and a public house and an inn, a tavern, etc...

But they also offer courses in Klingon. What company (other than Google) would seriously accept a degree in Klingon? Oh and you can do a degree in Robin Hood studies.

I'd be happy to go back to uni if they did a course studying lap-dancers.

Now there's a new thread: 'Name the stupidest college course available.'
Not Moyles-relevant I know, but, Klingon/ Seriously?
I heard there was a course in the lyrics of the Beatles !!!!!!

I don't really see why people shouldn't be able to study these things if they want to, and I'm sure those that do either do it for a specific reason (not that I can think of one), or do it without any expectation that it will provide a foundation for their futures. Unless their ambition is to be a Professor of Klingon I suppose.

I'm studying English Culture and Literature at a Uni in Germany and you've got to do a seminar and I was lucky enough to get into the one called "The British Pub". We learn all about the history of pubs, certain rules, pub talk and so on. It's my favourite course as it's so much fun!! Tomorrow we have to present a song about a pub and I chose "Lunch In This Pub" because it describes a regular pub lunch, so that people who haven't been to a pub yet get to now what it's like.

May I recommend a book called "Watching The English" written by some anthropology woman (I'm sure S4B will be able to tell us who. Kate someone?)

It has a whole chapter about pubs and pub social rules e.g. In order to get served you may not speak to or guesture to the barman but rather wait till he looks at you then either a slight nod or a raised eyebrow which when reciprocated means he will get to you next. And you may only talk to strangers either at the bar or pool table if you go to pubs with pool tables.

Oh and I love the bit where she explains that most English bars don't have table service and timed how long it took people of different nationalities to realize this and enquire at the bar. I think the record was 45 mind by a group of USAlanders.

'S a dead good book.

Aww I've read that book! It's Kate Fox. The story about the Americans is so funny. We actually talked about the pub section at Uni as well. I just love my course ;)

I prefer to go to the pub than to talk about it though.

There can't be THAT many can there? I can only think of one other, and it's a comical one by Bill Bailey...

Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps by Splodgenessabounds.

Ahh takes me back to my college days, drinking in the India Arms.

Oh there are lots of songs about pubs. My tutor chose "A Pub With No Beer" by The Dubliners.
I wish we could actually go to a pub instead of just talking about it, but here in Germany we've only got these massive "Irish Pubs" that pretend to be genuine, but they look like houses in theme parks. Awful!
