This has been as close to a perfect football weekend as I could have hoped for.

That Ronaldo sending off was outrageous. He clearly should have walked ten minutes earlier for his sarcastic clap at his first booking.

Best player in the world? The guy isn't fit to lace Lionel Messi's boots. Hell, he's not even the best player at Man United.

He was very lucky not to get his second yellow seconds after his first, I agree. Talk about asking for it. As for the "controversial" second yellow - how is that controversial? Ok. he thought play had stopped, but the fact is it hadn't. It wasn't a deliberate handball in terms of him trying to gain an advantage, but it was a "deliberate handball" as far as the game is concerned, and the ref did the only thing he could, there were no options on that one at all.

I don't care though,we beat Northampton and thats all that matters!

It's controvertial because it was Ronaldo. Because it was world player of the year or whatever jazz he's getting. If it were Titus Bramble it would be hilarious, but no - serious business...

Well, its not like he hasn't been sent off before - occasionally in far more controversial circumstances. Silly arse anyway.

Well done West Ham by the way. The second half of the season is beginning to look a little more interesting than I thought it was going to be.

C'mon Blackburn, finish the job on the top four tonight! Burnley have done half the work themselves!

"We"?! Oh really! You aren't pretending to actually give a toss about football just because your boyfriend's team looks like doing ok in a big competition now are you? You are?! Wow!

There's something depressing about knowing you're going to a Champions League game tonight and knowing that no matter what happens it will make absolutely no odds - it's your last until the summer.

Maybe Villarreal will thump us and stop Man United winning the group. That would at least be amusing.

Probably best to be honest although I do actually still have a thing for John Terry! Does that count as knowing stuff about football?

Yay, I can dig out the Jose parody again!

Hopefully Chelsea and Liverpool will also fall. Depends which Roma turns up, but we could get all four English clubs out at this stage.

Not that it matters, the way they're going Barca are going to skoosh it this year.

Does anyone else think football has gone down the pan if these teams competing in the Club World Cup in Japan are the best the world can offer?

No - but I do think that competition went down the pan years ago. They really should stop trying to resurrect something that has been dead and stinking for ages.
