I've never been to MK, but my dad has and he tells me every single building is hidden behind trees and bushes. You can't find anything.

I'd slag the roundabouts, but I've been to EK. I think it's something to do with places you can shorten to letters. Although that doesn't explain Scumbernauld.

Up till now, Munki, I have kept EK a secret on this board. Shhh.

(PS, have you ever noticed that on every single signpost in Central Scotchland, there is a sign to East Kilbride? - seriously, keep an eye out, they turn up in the most obscure locations. My favourite is on the Edinburgh bypass (eastbound).)

He'd be wrong. There are lots of trees, but things are easy to find and if you do go the wrong way, it's dead easy to turn round and go back.

I don't see the problem with roundabouts, though they are currently ruining some of them by putting badly planned traffic lights on.

This started out as a good thread, and just for once, it probably deserved to stay on topic. To give people the benefit of the doubt, I would say that it may be possible for all those roundabouts and random East Kilbride signposts to make a person lose the will to live.

Actually, I agree with Yudster - I like a decent debate once in a while and this was a good debate.

So my apologies for my part in what it's become!

To get back on track then, did anyone watch the programme? How was it covered? Did it deal with the matter sensitively, or did it seem to be sensationalist.

Interestingly, I saw a headline on one of the papers (the Mirror?) yesterday asking whether it was 'to provoke debate or a cynical ratings boost' or something - which is a valid question, but coming from a tabloid newspaper... people in glass houses, etc.

I've been visiting my grunny for 20 years in East Kilbride and I still don't have a * clue how to get there. That place is a hole.

Is a grunny like a particularly crusty and sticky granny?

foot-loose wrote:It is that.

I thought your grunny stayed in Neilston?

That's my Aunt in Uplawmoor, but well remembered. All my family are down near you. Poor them.
