Yes that's right. It worked to get him the prize of Best Act Ever at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Sadly, he's only number 95 on iTunes at the moment, so I guess that it's not going to work for the Christmas number one.

It should be pointed out at this point that Cowell's company owns the publishing rights to Buckley's AND Cohen's versions of the songs so all people are doing by buying Buckley's version is giving Cowell more cash.

I bought Buckley's version because I prefer it to all the others. I think the X-Factor version has awful arrangement. I couldn't care less if Simon Cowell gets rich off the back of any of my purchases. Fair play to him if he does, he's obviously very good at his job.
