I'm not sure if a topic about this has already been created but here goes.....

What are you predictions for 2009 for the Chris Moyles show? Who'll leave, who will arrive.

I dont think anybody will leave and think that the only change will be in sound - which they have already mentioned. Oh and Cark Park Catchphrase Going.

On the Music 4 website (company that makes there jingles) they have just added this today:
The Chris Moyles Show on BBC Radio 1 moves into it's 5th year on the air in January 2009.... The team at Music 4 have been busy creating new jingles, themes and contest beds for the show. They hit the airwaves on Jan 12th and will appear here on the same day at 10am.

Aparently there is also a new sound to newsbeat too, but thats for another topic!

Interesting, I wonder what we'll get in 2009?

Also good to hear a change of Newsbeat music, do they change it as often as they used to (from 1997-2004, each year had different music for Newsbeat, however from the shows I recorded from 2005/6 IIRC both years used the same Newsbeat bed, although I could be wrong.

They used to change the package reasonably often but the the current Newsbeat package started in January 2007 with minor updates since then.

Thanks for that link :) Interesting, I have actually grown to like the cheesey song having heard it quite regulary since October 2008. However a change is always nice to keep it fresh (in the cases of the afternoon show the jingles & beds used to sometimes change bi-monthly rather than yearly, especially in 2000-2001)

Ah so similar to 1999/2000. On the shows Chris uploaded on here, listen to the 1999 Newsbeat bed then the 2000 bed & they're very similar except the 2000 bed has more of a dancy vibe to it (never thought I'd ever write "Dancy Vibe" & I don't think I'll ever do so again )

The cheesy song is going and is being replaced, as well as a new bolder fresher (and MUCH louder) theme tune to the show

Thats a little bit of a downer, the cheesy song is really unique and surely what goes on at 630am is not going to have any effect on listener figures. Will it be more like what they had on the afternoon show with a "Live from London" intro perhaps?
BTW, hopefully CPC wont be rested too long, for me CPC tedious and the golden hour are some of the best bits of the show
Ramble going is probably no harm.

I thought they where just going to remix it? Unless they've decided to take a U-Turn on that idea..........either way it should be good.

From what Aled alluded to on the blog, it looks like there will be more video. Maybe even a live feed?

The multiple cameras shooting the recent Live Lounge guests suggests this also.
It's great that they used them to capture the Comedy Gold that was My Lamb Bhuna. Great stuff.

Was quite shocked that Ramble was axed but it has ran its course. Loved the cheesy song but it's been 2 years so it's due for retirement. CPC was always going to be rested as it didn't really fit the ad-lib schedule of the show (which is fantastic btw).

To quote Dave (?), I think the comedy may be a bit subtle for you.

I don't think I've laughed harder in 2008 over the too many Zoe/Norman Cooks "in the broth" game.

It was the Doctor Who joke that had me cracked up.

Roy: "Knock knock."
Chris: "Whos there?"
Roy: "Doctor"
Chris: "Doctor who?"
Roy: "who?"
Chris: "no, you're meant to say 'that's the answer - doctor who!' "
Roy: "who's a doctor?"

Repeat for three minutes.

I found something on my system the other day, it was called 'knock knock' and I had always assumed it was the classic clip Foots has posted above. So, when played it was infact some follow-up to the Dr Who gag, from the short-lived days of 'Beep beep Busters' - Remember that?!
