Just to echo Mr Loose's comments, that's very very sexy. Well done Mr Jeddeth.

Thanks guys. Now if someone can help me get this working on my iphone in the US, I would be very very grateful.

From what I used it on Friday, it's awesome over wi-fi and not do hot over O2 3G. Probably too high quality a stream.

Still a cracking app though.

I've got the old iPhone so it does even worse without wi-fi. It's okay if you stay still but not for when you're moving around. It loses it's buffer pretty quickly.

My new phone arrived yesterday, and it runs rings around the iPhone, even the touch screen is nicer to use in my opinion. It's a touch screen with a tactile click of using buttons.

Shush, don't upset the jesus phone disciples, they'll have you burned as some kind of heretic for being able to use MMS.

Anyway, Apple are in my bad books for using "funnest" in their advert.

And being able to record video, and edit word/excel/powerpoint docs, and being able to integrate with work emails out of the box :)

Hang on though - as far as I can tell with what's available out there at the moment (going by reading specifications rather than using them I will admit), its not difficult to find something better than the iPhone, is it?

Meh. I don't want something that clicks each time and I saw a review of that phone compared to the iPhone on the BBC and they said while it's good the iPhone is better. Nyer!

Still love the iPhone.

I have never used one - or its competitors - I was just going by the list of features and capabilities, which I will happily admit doesn't tell the whole story.

Does it forward text messages?

(By the way, my iPhone works with my work emails out of the box - but then I'm the sysadmin here so our email system is actually pretty good)

Why has it taken me until now to find out the iPlayer works on the iPhone?!

Zane v Moyles coming out my iPhone right now. Fantastic. All the brilliant stuff the phone does vastly outweighs the stuff it doesn't.

I should keep some kind of list of all the things I think the iPhone does well, and all the stuff that annoys me about it. The sad thing is, the stuff that annoys me tends to stick in my mind more. So I'll start there.

Negative:
- the limited camera (I used to say it was crap, but it's actually quite good for it's limited range)
- he lack of video recording (a big step down from my N95), not being able to forward text messages (although it was pointed out to me that could be a good thing - less text spam!)
- limited bluetooth (apparently a security feature but so is turning it off when you're not using it - I want to send pictures to friends close by!)
- the lack of flash in the browser (that's just being picky - no mobile phone I know has that)
- the fact you have to hack custom ringtones onto your phone (cut them down to 30 seconds, convert them a bit, rename them... it's all a bit complicated)
- the fact you cant download mp3s from the web and keep them on the iPod bit (as I discovered when I tried to get stuff both from here and the Christmas gifts stuff)
- the fact you need to get the latest firmware every so often and to do that you need to download a big file for that... after you download another big file to upgrade iTunes itself - it takes forever (but then, so did the N95 and Nokia Suite - the only thing more whiny about upgrading than iTunes)

Positive:
- it's actually a good phone (surely the most important thing?)
- the text message conversation layout (brilliant when you get a text hours later replying to something and you can't remember what you sent)
- the visual voicemail (no more using the automated system for me - I hate all that "for infinite loop of death, press one, to be cut off, please hold the line" stuff)
- the browser (I love Opera Mini, but touchscreen Safari blows it out the water)
- the iTunes app gets music straight to your phone (no plugging into computers for anything other than backup now)
- pictures directly into facebook through their app (genius, if you could just pick which album they went into, but still brilliant)
- the iPlayer is on it (I might use it even more now)
- the app store (same as iTunes - get stuff straight onto your phone, no need to use the computer)
- the radio streaming app mentioned earlier on this thread (not as good as having an actual radio, but the next best thing)
- email, specifically Microsoft Exchange integration (from my own experience, it's better than Microsoft's SmartPhone stuff at it and easier to set up)
- O2's free data package (I was 15 quid a month with Orange when I left them and I was limiting myself!)
- Range - the kinds of apps you can get is ridiculously varied, from a virtual lighter and pint, to currency converter, to a tv guide that interacts with your Sky+ box (and is better than the Sky Mobile application available on other phones - one word, search!) to a whole host of other things I probably haven't even thought about. Seriously, if anyone has any good apps they would recommend, please tell me!

I think I'll end there for now. I've no doubt forgotten something, but sadly I can't edit this post once I hit submit!

See I've got the iPhone Classic. Ok it's not got 3G but it does have an adamantium casing (snickty snick). I dropped this thing down the stairs the other night and there wasn't a mark on it. Mine's a year old today and aside from two errant pixels it works perfectly. I love the updates. The phone does so much more than it first did. Oh and it's so intuitive and easy to use.

I love the search thingy on google maps. Gives you company details and you just click on them to call or go to their website etc. Brilliant.

Google Maps is an application that you can get on loads of phones though. I have it on mine.

yeah but it works so much better and easier on the iPhone. I had it on my old phone so on this I speak with authority.

Yes I have.......well alright no I haven't but I don't think anyone on the planet has.....My point still stands and is still valid...it's far easier on the iPhone.

I preferred Google Maps to Nokia Maps on my N95 so I had used it quite a bit on there. The iPhone's slightly better if only because it's easier to zoom. But there's not all the much to choose between them.

Sorry to interrupt... but I'm very excited because after 6 months I finally got Radio One live streaming on my iphone in the US!

Using an app called WunderRadio http://appshopper.com/music/wunderradio - which I loved even before I got this going....

I added the Radio 1 stream at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/realaudio/media/r1live.ram

and voila!

It's been a long frustrating road for me to get to this point, and the quality is nothing to write home about, but it works. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that the BBC doesn't kill this feed.

So a quick question for my British iphone friends here. Could someone try out this stream for me and just let me know how the quality compares to the asx streams I posted for you guys last week? I'm very curious. Thanks!

And Happy Hanukkah to all the Jewish Moyles' fans!
