The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Surely it will depend who replaces him? I doubt very much if they would give it to Mills, but that would be the end of Radio 1 listening for me too if they did. If Gregg James got it I would give him a try (more in hope than expectation though) - or they might just bring in a "celeb" style presenter, in which case it would very much depend who it was.

I think when Chris goes they should give the job to Kerry Katona.

I hope Wogan dies soon then.

Although the whole post was good, that bit made me laugh more than the rest of it. I think it's the evil but quite clever thing.

I tell you - late night local radio is fantastic. I listened to a guy a while back reading out texts from listeners. It was a request and dedicate type show so they were all asking for songs to be played for their partners, then he goes an plays something that none of them - not one - had asked for. Tis all back to front, I tell thee.

I'm the same. I always figured it was a Scottish thing (* knows why, breakfast radio here is dire).

More worrying, it's popular here. Both my parents are forever telling me what a funny wind up Robin Galloway did on Real Radio. I've listened to them, they're shit. He's not funny. And best of all, he DOES have sycophants telling him how great he is. As does George Bowie over on Clyde. Which is a surprise, you wouldn't think they had time in between all those adverts.

Seriously, when Chris eventually chucks breakfast, I'll probably chuck the radio.

Unless Chris goes back to afternoons or onto Radio 2 or Radio 6 Music of course :D (I honestly think he'll work for national BBC Radio for many years to come)

I know this is speculative, so I'll keep it short, otherwise Yudster will shout - but I can't see him ever doing 6 Music - it's too music based (the clue is in the name I guess) and I'd have thought he does too much chat for that.

I think chris may go like Howard Stern in the U.S. Either he will go to america on sirius or he will go onto a paid digital channel in the UK that has no boundaries at all. They can play music if they want, they can swear if they want, etc.

When MOYLES is consigned to the radio grave, there is one man, ONLY one man to replace the radio ether..
..JAMES WHALE.
As long as he keeps his gob shut during election times, he would be a complete success.
I'm 39 and can remember listening to Whaley on Radio Aire when I was a kid.
He's even been praised by Moyles himself.

I think Radio two Breakfast is the only slot that will appease Moyles' ego if he goes, it has more listeners than anyone else so he can say he has the biggest, best breakfast show in the country. Wogan will not go on for ever and judging by this forum he is more popular with the target audience of Radio 2, than Radio one. Although that may be because you can't use text speak, and Yuds eats all the pre-teen nubies.

It seems that BBC programs slag him off, the company he works within and yet Channel 4, a 'rivel' (i guess) dont.

But yet if these people had something to plug i bet they'de be Chris' best friend then!

To be fair to Jupitus, him and Chris have a "history", they used to be on good terms, but that changed for some reason. Can't remember now but Chris has alluded to it on a couple of occasions

Yep, I think Radio 2 is the only option really, but that is years away. Regular listeners to 6music are quite precious about their DJS having musical knowledge that fits in with the station, and with the comments Chris has about Radio 1's playlist it just wouldn't be the best move. The talking wouldnt be that much of an issue, if anyone who has had the misfortune to listen to George Lamb will testify.

I doubt he'd go back to Radio 1 afternoons either, he'll surely be the longest serving breakfast DJ by the time he leaves, and with Radio 1 coming under scrutiny for attracting listeners older than it's target demographic at the moment so a move back to drive would come under fire.

If I had to guess, when he leaves Radio 1, he'll go to Radio 2 weekends (after a small break) then eventually work his way into the weekday, like Chris Evans and Steve Wright did.

His apperance on NMTB seems to have cause some ructions but I've no idea as to why, I think Moyles liked both Lamar & Jupitus but for some reason since his appearance they don't seem to get on with him
