I believe there's going to be a Ten Hour Takeover on January 2nd, starting at 9am. Rather looking forward to this.

I think it is true because Colin (who, by the way was brilliant on Edith's show, mainly due to the fact that Edith wasn't there) gave a '3 minute takeover' preview by taking a call from a fella who asked for Rabbit by Chas 'n' Dave.

They don't ban playlisted songs though - I think they should for the takeover days.

I wouldn't ban playlist songs. I'd just ban idiots from phoning up to hear songs they can hear several times a day any other day. In fact, I'd probably just punch them in the face rather than ban them, then play Rick Astley instead.

I think if Moyles was allowed greater musical freedom with no negative consequences with his show then I don't think he'd suddenly turn into a fountain of new and diverse music, I think he'd just stick Nik Kershaw on repeat...all together now.

The playlist is there for a reason. It's an integral part of any radio station. If you don't like it, then set up your own playing everything from Canibal Corpse to Catherine Jenkins and see how many listeners you get.

Once again an assumption has been made that in banning the playlist you have to replace it with new music. I've never suggested that.

As for setting up my own Radio Station, I've no need, as a licence payer I'm already a part owner in all the BBC Radio Stations where I can hear songs of this diversity.
