Indeed. Off to see Bill Bailey tonite in fact. Not at my theatre this time sadly so I won't get to meet him again! He's got too big for places like ours now.

That's two people on my Facebook going to see Bill Bailey tonight... someone I went to school with is going too and the same person apparently got stopped by Police under the Terrorism Act this morning. Watch out Nicola...!

I would place Black Books in my top five sitcoms.

Yep, I got the three disk boxset for £7. I've only seen the pilot episode so far, which I liked but I'm a bit worried I'm not going to get many of the references, because there are supposed to be a lot, aren't there? If it's references that makes up a lot of the humour, I may not get it.

It references really well known films/tv though, like Starwars, Robocop, Scoobie Doo, Pulp fiction etc, so it's not all really obscure.

Absolutely, Spaced is very under-rated. Shame Channel 4 don't do sitcoms like Spaced, Father Ted, Desmonds & Black Books anymore, Damn Big Brother & budget :x

I've never seen spaced. Always wanted to cos everyone goes on about it so much and I've not hears a bad thing said about it. Bit like the film Goodfellas. I own it but never seen it.

Goodfellas is a good film. I'm always wary of films that are "based" on a true story, because you never know how much of it is true and to be fair, with Goodfellas, a good proportion of it is likely to be fictional, but it's still a good film.

Is Goodfellas supposed to be true then? I know Fargo isn't true even though it says it is....THEY LIED!

The main character - Henry someone... Hill I think - was a real mafioso (although that word may be reserved for the Sicilian mafia, that's how I know them) who became a police informant (pentito, if that's used in America, which it probably isn't.) As I said, I think a lot of the film is fiction, though.
