The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Doubt it. I figure it's gone for good as they've not mentioned it. Kinda like them doing away with the celebrity drop ins afterwards. And the celebrity time checks have gone too. Been gone a while they have.

At the beginning of the week, I was a bit wary of the new sound etc, but now I am getting used to it, I am still enjoying the show. Nothing has really changed apart from CPC. Even the bit about Ramble having being pulled is not really true, all they have done is stopped Dave from doing his intro bit. This is probably a good idea cos it allows the convo to continue more naturally.

The brand new cheesy song... It needed updated - I know they were being ironic with the 'brand new' bit, but two years was taking the piss a bit. I like it.

The new bed... I like it.

The new volume of callers... someone said in a thread somewhere that it was like Mills. This isn't true. Mills callers seem very fake and the 'banter' between Mills and the caller can almost seem scripted at times ("So you want to hear that feature that we did yesterday again? Well the good news is its coming up in 10 minutes!"). The callers on Moyles just seems to be them having a laugh with the listeners and they used to do it well in the afternoon.

The pop quiz ... I am trying my best to like it. The feature itself is funny, the questions are straight forward enough that I can play along at home but are likely to trip the callers up which allows Moyles to rip the pish outta them. The downside is Cheggars. Sorry to those who love the guy but I think it's overkill now. Someone (Zoot I think) compared him to the kid at school that wanted to be in the popular kids band but couldnt actually play any instruments - thats a cracking analogy. It was funny when he was randomly sending in wee jingles, that allowed Chris to slag him for 'having too much time' but now there is no hiding the fact that he is on the Radio One payroll.

Suggestions to make it better? A few more daily features. Think of what we had when the show started - Buzz Off, Celebrity Tarzan, One Road Travel, Tedious, Ramble, CPC. Now we have Tedious and CPC. The features dont even have to stay for months, just a few weeks then change it for something else. If its popular, keep it!

Or revive some old features. Do a feature where they revive a feature for a week. It can be called 'The "revive a feature" feature'. Anyone remember Car-e-oke? Or Viaduct? Look at how excited people got when 'Fire At Will' made it's comeback earlier this week (granted, with significant corporate crap attatched to it)!

Well done, Foots. I'm not loving the pop quiz, I must confess. I preferred CPC.

I wish they'd bring back Viaduct. It was my favourite.

CPC was good for two reasons - the banter with Roy ("Doctor. Who? Who's a doctor?") and the banter with the contestants.

The pop quiz has the potential to have good banter with the contestants but, in my opinion, Cheggars is just doing exactly the same as Roy, but it's just not funny. I want it to be funny, I even laugh at the points where I think I am meant to, but it's not doing it for me yet. He may get better over time.

Also, the chances are that since I am a die-hard fan of the show, I look into it waaaay too much. I imagine the normal listener wasn't even expecting there to be a change, in fact, probably hasn't noticed the difference between Roy and Cheggars.

Meanwhile, we are all sitting here sharpening the claws, and no matter who replaced Roy - he would never be as good. It's probably us that are wrong.

I'll take my claws out of the scratching post long enough to remark that as funny as Cheggars is, I adore Roy. You're absolutely right. It's not really fair to Cheggars but no one would be as good as Roy. It's kind of like the conversation I keep having with Topher about Grandad or Uncle Albert. They're both good but I prefer Grandad. I'm unlikely to change my mind. The immutable opinion is one of the perks of being ancient.

I'm a massive fan of OFAH, but don't really compare the two characters. I just see them as being totally different personalities. It's like comparing David Jason with Nicholas Lyndhurst. An impossible comparison to make as they're two different actors, and brilliant in different ways. If Buster Merryfield played the part of grandad when Leonard Pearce died, then the comparison would be understandable.

Haha, I am a proper Only Fools and Horses geek, I know Trigger's real name and everything even though it was never mentioned on the show.

I agree with Ladbroke. I have told Sunny So Cal to give it time, but she is still mourning the passing of Lennard Pearce. Albert made some very good storylines possible that wouldn't have been possible with Grandad. Grandad was fantastic and Lennard Pearce played the role admirably, but Buster Merryfield was brilliant as Albert too.

Viaduct or Dave's Introductory Service are two I'd like them to bring back, both great in the afternoon, although Viaduct must have the Bottom End Theme track & not that rubbish "Viaduct The Revenge" music.

They could also have Girls Going To Football for Friday's as well, it could work, Dave could predict his score on the Friday & on Monday they see if he was right or not.

Bring back King of Tickets I say.

Didn't they try brngung back Viaduct just the one time? Listening to the old files on here it's funny to see how open they were that they primed the contestants a little before going on air. Couldn't get away with that now. The BBC never lies.

Pah. Fine. Though, you will note that since the episode in which Grandad died, my Only Fools watching has subsided. For a while I was getting through them quite regularly, remember? I PROMISE I'll watch the next one soon. I could use the smiles!

Could they not just bung it in the rules that they might prime them?

7. Given the nature of the quiz, which is solely for entertainment purposes, and the style of the presenter, contestants may be provided with some of the answers prior to the quiz commencing. Contestants should also be aware that Chris Moyles might influence the outcome by helping one or other of the contestants. Additionally, due to the nature of the quiz, some questions may have more than one answer. Chris Moyles will have final say as to which answer will be deemed the correct one.

After a couple of days break Cheggers Pop Quiz is back and IMO, it's still rubbish, and the theme reminds me of the one for Bingo Night Live.

Please bring back Roy.

On a positive note, I'm liking Sara more.

So the only positive comment you have on the new Chris Moyles Show is that you like the presenter of the radio show on AFTER the Chris Moyles Show even more?

To get me thru the 3wk xmas break I downloaded some of the old shows from the sound vault and one of them includes Viaduct, which reminded me how much I liked it. I actually thought everyone else hated it!

Everyone loved Viaduct (including me), which makes people get all nostalgic, but I don't think it's good to bring back old competitions.

I just feel that Cheggers isn't having any of the material tailored to him, it's all roy walker jokes and he doesn't have the delivery.

There's something funny about the way roy gives his jokes, like he's in character but today cheggers' escapade with Cliff didn't even make me smile, this made me sad :(

I dont think that pre recorded banter is quite cheggers' forte

I was thinking the same thing myself this morning. By all means give Cheggers a chance, but they really should be taking a different line on the "banter" than what they did with Roy Walker.

That reminds me I really REALLY need to edit those shows don't I?

The only other way I can do it is undedit them (leave in music, etc) but to stop Chris getting into trouble (due to music issues) I can upload it via a free download site, that depends if people want the music in or not? I can soon do that, it'll be a lot easier for me TBH, unless someone else would like to edit them at all?

I really do apologise as I keep saying that I would get more ready but I just haven't had the time unfortunately (it takes several hours to copy them & several more hours to edit them & before you know it it's bloody 2am & I've got to get up at 6:30am) I have taped loads (some jump, some don't) but it's just editing the buggers! 8O

I've found the show to be really good last week and today, the break has made it fresher and more relaxed but I'm not keen on the new quiz. The only reason I mentioned Sara was she was on at the time of my post.

Everyone is being REALLY funny today. The chat about being in the intimidating gym, even though hilarious, had its serious underbelly and might engender more public empathy with Moyles than anything he has said before. And the Beyonce remix which they are playing right now is making me cry laughing.

I've got a horrible feeling that there will be some fallout from Chris saying that Ulrika isn't fit to be a parent...

Yeah, I did think that rant was a little close to the mark......

Half agree with him, odd for mother to leave 7 month old child behind for few weeks, but, other mothers (army springs to mind) are sometimes forced to do the same and solutions can be found.....

Chris was held a lot as a child!!!

Very true. I absolutely hate that "you don't have kids so you wouldn't understand" line of reasoning, and I'm sure that's what will get thrown at Chris. I suppose Ulrika is making money to provide for her kids by going on BB...but I have no idea what it's like to leave your 7 month old baby for 3wks, and let's face it, Chris doesn't either.
