Yeah, I agree with the COD4/5 comments. Why go from modern guns back to WW II rubbish..... History good, present better. GoW is another good title, I enjoy planing my mates on his xbox, but its nothing super outstanding.... I love my online shooters, but in this day and age GoW offers games too small (max 4 per side?)..... Hardly gives the impression of a hard fought battle, more a scuffle outside a pub.

Personally I believe Bad Company dicks all over both of them, in my opinion the far superior 'war sim'. Few minor niggles, but hugely enjoyable to play online.

It went back to WW II because it was made by a different company, they swap each time, COD4 was far better than 5; saying that number 5 is still far better than Gears Of War. Yes, it's a little like Ghost Recon - but better!

Well I quite like COD5, but then I've never played any of the other ones so I can't make the same complaint about going back from modern equipment. Even still, I have found myself screaming "* piece of shit gun RELOAD FASTER" a lot recently. I might go back and get COD4 when I'm done. Although I still haven't tried playing online yet. I'll just wind up very dead very quick.

I want a game where we get to shoot Americans though. You never see them. It's always Soviets, or aliens, or Nazis... how can they never make a game from the other perspective? A game where you can actually be the Nazis. Or the aliens. It's not like they couldn't just skip over the less acceptable bits. I mean, even COD5 skipped over the liberation of Poland. "Shall we go liberate Warsaw, comrad?" "No, let the Nazis raze it to the ground first, then we can move in and make them communist". No, you go straight from Stalingrad to closing in on Berlin. Funny that.

You could start off dead easy - invade Austria. That way you can get used to the controls like walking, marching and greeting the people. Then you can get a bit more difficult and invade Czechoslovakia, Poland etc. Then it could get really hard as you try and invade the Soviet Union. Nothing wrong with all this stuff, it's just like the other games. It's not like you'd need to run Auschwitz or something.

I don't play on multiplayer. Don't know how to do it and I'm buggered if I'm paying a fiver a month for the pleasure. It's not even my xbox anyway.

I think Counter Strike should just generally be the world's FPS. It's fast, easy and great. And you can kill American Marines too. Good laugh.

Which brings me back to Bad Company. Why call in a chopper and watch it fly about. Get in a lovely apache gunship youself, get your mate (online) in the gunner seat, and actually fly about the battlefield shooting enemy soldies/tanks/boats etc.

And, BEADLE, I can't answer if its like Ghost Recon, as didn't go near that, but if you enjoy your first-person shooters its certainly worth a look.....
