Oddly enough a Chris Moyles show from Tuesday 23rd October 2001, Moyles mentions Vicky Marsden's show, although in a jokey throwaway way "...and then Vicky Marsden on at two o'clock but then we'll all be asleep by then, sorry Vicky", which was a bit odd to hear.

The end of afternoons was rubbish. They said on air that they were looking forward and not back. I'm guessing they'd been told to promote the new breakfast show as much as possible and not to dwell on the fact it was the end of afternoons. Shame, because the last few weeks of afternoons could have been so much more special.

I was going to start a thread on this, but seeing as you've posted in here, I have to say I agree. When I listened back to the last Staurday show the other week, they seemed a bit sadder that the show was going & played most of the regular features on the last show & even gave a "roll of honour" to all of the people who had or were still working on the show. The last afternoon show sounds a bit, well crap, compared to the last 4&1/2 years prior. It seems that with the afternoons once Will left something was missing, yes I know we had Aled & Rachel, who transformed over to the Breakfast show & were great on there but it seems that the last few months of 2003 they just got a bit bored with it, which initially put me off the breakfast show until 2005, where they seemed to be back on form.

On the last afternoon one they just said something along the lines of "there's too many of you to mention but you know who you are", but would have really hurt them to have said something along the lines of "A big thank you to all involved on this show over the last five years, a special thank you in particular to Producers Ben, Richard & Rhys, Melinda, Lizzie & Jon & of course Grey Head Will & also thank you to everybody else who worked with us at one tme or another, you know who you are"

The last two songs weren't spectauclar either, an average dance track, which I imagine was shoe-horned in because of it's short time run & the a punk cover of Frank Sinatra's "My Way" & considering they kept goign on about Mills getting in the studio they have him on air for 30 seconds & then tell him to bugger off.

Thats so sad.I used to listen to her when she did that nighttime show .She couldnt have been very old too.I hope its not true!

She could easily have gone on to do early breakfast and then perhaps afternoons.
