I'm hoping Chris' have gone up, but there's part of me that is doubting it has. But I hope that part is proven wrong! I think the show had picked up steam in the last quarter. It's been really entertaining, with some excellent guests.

I hope they've gone up a little bit at least, they do deserve the gain in listners, the quality has been excellent of recent.

To be honest with the exception of Chris Moyles & Jon Holmes I really can't be bothered listening to most radio, it's just got so bland & generic now that I really can't be arsed to listen to most of it.

"BBC Radio 1 lost nearly 300,000 listeners on the previous quarter, down to 10.58 million, and was also down year on year. The station's share of listening, at 10.1%, was up from 9.8% in the previous three months but down from 10.3% year on year.

Radio 1 breakfast host Chris Moyles had an audience of 7.3 million listeners, up 300,000 on the previous quarter but level year on year."

So, Radio 1 as a whole is down but Chris is up. Stop putting so many shit DJs on after him?

Have to admit, I've stopped listening to Radio 1 after lunch. And that's only because I've grown to like Sara Cox. I know plenty of others that still don't listen to her because she was rubbish a few years ago.

I heard a chunk of Edith's show yesterday - I knew I didn't like her but I had forgotten just how terrible she is. Why. Does! She. Say. Each. Word! With. A - pause. In. Between? Can she not express herself a bit more naturally? It sounds like she is constantly padding. Nihal can be a bit like that, but Edith has loads more experience than Nihal, she really should be better.

Ah I didn't hear them mention that Radio 1 had lost some listners but heard that Moyles got 280,000. Rather pleased for them that they regained back some of the listners, proof that people like a mix of music & chat rather than banal, dull, generic radio shows.

I listened to Edith's show today because she had Chris Martin in the studio. He was brilliant. She was awful.

I'm not sure but I think Sara Cox lost listeners compared with Jo Whiley.That might be responsible for the overall reduction.

The show is miles better than what the opposition can muster, but wheather they will ever pass out Wogan is another story!

For R1 as a whole the 10-4pm slots is what I feel are letting the station down. even Greg James at 4am is a better listen than Edith in my opinion.

I wonder if the shows figures go down when the team are on holiday. I, for one, cannot be doing with Scott Mills and never listen when he's on in the morning. I think the show's format is spot on, even to the point where we're told that we have seven and a half minutes to have a shower because they're playing two songs and a trail, they know the audience so well.

Also, I don't know about anyone else but I think Sara Cox is so much better than Jo Whiley, i find her very pretentious, whereas Sara is almost like a female version of Chris Moyles.

Must admit, I was racing the songs this morning. But then I've got a shower radio, so that helps Did make me laugh when someone on the text asked if they were running late because the first link didn't last as long as it usually does!

What about that eejit in the Daily Star though? Claiming that Moyles had lost out to Wogan again. I don't know what Wogan's Rajar figures were this time round, but surely Chris should be immune from criticism of the figures when he's the only one at Radio 1 who increased theirs?! Chris was right, it was just some idiot child writer that wanted to have a go at him, had it all ready to go, then got disappointed by the figures themselves. I believe that needs a GIRUY!

I agree, I noticed this about the whole "you've got seven minutes to have a shower" comments kind of like screw the music it's not important But then again people don't really tune into Moyles for music anymore do they.

The Daily Star is an absolute pile of sh*te, owned by Dirty Desmond along with the "serious" Daily Express, Asian Babes & Big, Black & Bouncy, I mean how can you take the pair of those papers seriously.

Moyles is still great & the press just hate the fact that he has risen through the ranks in such a short space of time.
