Oh yeah, I forgot I did that! It was the Ochils I was wandering around in though. I remember there being less 'up' back then though.

I never completed the Bronze though. I forget why, but it wasn't because I didn't finish the walking part.

Heh. I too noticed he mentioned it on Friday. Also heard the bit where he was going to tell people to f*** off, fair enough. The pictures look good, and i'd still like to go up there.

On the matter of Snowdon, I knew where it was, I just got mixed up with the Brecon Beacons, both cold, both in Wales, both are pointy bits of land sticking out of the ground. Easy mistake.

Fair play to Chris mind, he's going for it. Not slacking off and making a joke out of it so good luck to him. Stuff the celeb watch. I'd rather play him on Fifa 09 - Cardiff V Leeds.. seems as though we were the ones who fudged them up.

I've never seen why King of Tickets shouldn't be brought back.

I know, he is brilliant. I thought you were questioning whether he was funny or not. My mistake :D

There will be, but I have a sneaking suspicion noone on here will know of any. Try doing a wee search on some hillwalking forums, you might find some help there?

It's just been sadly announced on the news that 2 climbers have been killed on Snowdon. LIke I said, going up the mountain is not to be taken lightly. I went up there on Saturday and saw two rescue helicopters. Well done to Chris and the team, they did really well. especially going up Crib Goch, that's one of the hardest routes up Snowdon, and most dangerous.

I just read that myself... really sad, and it seems that they were also climbing Snowdon on the Saturday (if the RAF were alerted at 3am on Sunday morning) I did a walk up Snowdon a few years ago, and whilst it's obviously not like climbing up a sheer mountain face, it's certainly not a stroll in the park like some people are suggesting.

EDIT - looks like it was probably on the Sunday - I think the BBC story has the times mixed up.

You could see from the videos that they went up one of the hardest routes (there are some relatively easy ones, but they are still a tough hike in the winter). I'm so glad they went on Saturday, seems the conditions were a lot worse on Sunday - a story like this is scary, to say the least.

Again, no offence meant, or a lack of caring, but look at the conditions out there!

Why are people climbing mountains when its so cold, windy, snowy? And on mountains where the conditions are likely to change at any given moment? Part of me thinks that if they want to go do that then fine, but why should mountain rescue people put their lives at risk when it all goes tits up?

I'm a heartless bastard, I know.

That's a terrible story, made even eerier by Chris mentioning this morning that 2 men had made an igloo to sleep in overnight. I wonder if that might have been them? I guess there's no point in speculating.

Well it looks like today's show has been removed from iPlayer, so it makes you wonder... :(

There's a news story on the BBC that two brothers died on Snowden overnight. Wonder if it was them? That might explain it.

I have been feeling a bit bad about that post. I suppose I just think that if its bad conditions (which is likely in January) that people would be best waiting for the summer?

Fair play to Chris for mentioning the 2 climbers that died, on this mornings show. I thought that was a decent and nice thing to do.
