i would just like to say that even though i cant normally stand sara cox, it is refreshing to have a dj on after chris that isnt constantly trying to get her show started with her finger itching to play a record, i am reffering to the perma pregnant jo whiley!
Seriously, u can tell she hates chris eating into HER show, at least coxy is up 4 a laugh and its normally at least 10:05 before she plays a record.
Keep her on i say! when whiley comes back it will only be for 9months then she'll be dropping again, and surely shes in the age bracket for a radio2 dj now?

Anyone else feel the same?

I agree. Keep Sara Cox and send the haggard old baby machine Whiley to tin pop radio where she can constantly play songs by the Automatic to keep her husband in a job!

Hang on. Only very occasionally does Whiley start straight away. She has some great chats with Mr Moyles. Normally when anyone else takes over they start a few show straight in and then get to chatting by the second week. It happened with Annie Mac as well. Cox is just getting into the swing of things. She's doing nothing new.

True, there are threads bemoaning her lack of handover compared to the Whiley when she first started, she mentioned on air it was something to do with her headphones, and that it made talking across studios with Chris difficult.

What a laugh a night out with them two would be. Very Random.

Loved it when Chris mentioned that he had booked a table at a restuarant for him and Sophie for Valentines and Sara just went "oh...I didnt know could book Nandos" you could hear everyone in the studio just piss themselves.

I've been a fan of Sara for a while, since she did drive time. Listening to her while she's been in for Jo has been a real joy.

I'm gonna miss her in the mornings, it just won't be the same when Jo returns. Anyway at least she ain't leaving the station.

I wish she was staying on mornings. Jo is bland and has no discernible personality. Sara is funny, quick and makes me laugh a lot - she also seems to enjoy doing the show, whereas Jo just plods through it. It will be sad to have to switch the radio off at ten o clock again.

I never used to like Sara Cox but yeah, I've warmed to her a bit more recently. I used to start work at 9.30am every day so never heard the handovers but now I'm working three late shifts a week si I hear it quite a lot, and it's usually amusing. Also she had the same thing wrong with her hip when she was born that i did, so I feel a sort of affinity with her...

I've been chuckling to myself all day. The morning show today was fantastic, the handover carried it into Sara's show and she's been on pretty good form today too. I'm fairly sure he ranting about gravy is precursor to another appearance on Oh What's Occurring.

I definitely agree too!

I usually listen on listen again, and the handover always overruns the moyles show into coxy's show...makes me listen to a bit of cox...turns out they talk quite interesting.

I think Dave was on fire today btw :)

I also prefer Sara Cox. I used to switch over to Radio 2 at ten, I'm getting old. I've been listening until 1 for the last few months. I find Jo really pretentious, everything is so serious, and Sara is kind of like a female Chris Moyles.

Sara will be missed. does anyone know which weekend slot she will be going to? Is it Sunday morning?

She's taking over Sunday morning from Chappers & Dave. I assume she's carrying on the lay-in.

Two words sum up the reason why I hate Jo Whiley and it is this - Live Lounge.

Why does everything performed in there sound "lovely" according to her? The Automatic were on the show before she went on mat leave (blatant fast track by Whiley and her husband - the band's manager) and performed Usher's 'In This Club'. Awful rendition and didn't sound good by any stretch, this is coming from a guitar fan btw.

The covers performed in the Live Lounge, in my opinion, are a slap, spit and full on deffacation in the face of the song in question and the artists who originally recorded it yet Whiley still sings the praises of those who commit the haenous acts. I dread to hear her next ringing endoresement when a band rolls up. "Wasn't that just beautiful? That was the Ting Tings doing a cover of 'Let It Be' by The Beatles and definitely better than the original."

I listened to Annie Mac covering for her when she was off on holiday, again. I think that she's a better presenter for that show as well as her Mash-Up show. It's pity she got moved to Switch. I'm no Sara Cox fan but I'd take listening to her over

As for the 'Changing Tracks' feature on her show. 'For many years, I was a bit of a loner. Nobody liked me, and I found it very hard to make friends. I tried everything, from joining clubs, going to evening classes and changing my haircut. Nothing helped. But then one day I heard a song that made me put everything into perspective. It made me realise what I had been doing wrong, and my life has never been the same since. I'm now married with 4 children, a £100,000 a year job and a huge circle of friends. I owe it all to this very special song, and if I hadn't heard it my life would be very different.' Jamie from Sunderland. His changing track; S Club Party by S Club 7.

Why are the license payers funding the salary of a pretentious kid-shitting fortysomething bluffer who syphons all her information from either the latest edition of NME or Wikipedia?

I'm dreading her impending return. Radio 1 will be getting switched off at 10am every day from Monday.

I really cannot stand her.

Jo Whiley has always been listening to new music professionally since before Zane Lowe (Who I can't stand) was born probably. Even back in the days of the evening session with Steve Lurpak she had a good heritage.

As for the live lounge, I've got all three albums and while some of it is dross I like hearing different renditions of songs. Dizzee Rascal's That's not My Name was great.

Changing tracks I'm sure is just written by 14 year olds with too much time on their hands but the feature dates back to Simon Bates' Our tune albeit with a broader spectrum of topics.

Jo has always had a more laid back feel to her shows and while I can see the attraction of a more youthful, energetic presenter I shall miss Jo when she goes to the big Radio Station in the sky known as Radio 2. She's part of my youth that I can cling on to.

Thats the funniest thing I've read on here for ages, thanks. At least Sara does Changing Tracks with her tongue very firmly in her cheek - she does "mock serious" very well.

I'm fairly sure I have my own "changing track". But firstly, what happened after it WAS IN THE * SONG AND I SHOULD HAVE SEEN IT COMING, and secondly I have absolutely no desire to share it with millions of people.

Sharing it with just a handful of people on here is purely for comedy value. And even that's questionable since it's not as funny as ConvertedDisciple's post concerning it.
