The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Just wondering if there are other people who, like me, have a backlog of shows to catch up.

I am from Singapore. My only chance of listening to the CM show is when I am driving and/or during work (download and convert to mp3).

On a good day, I may finish one and a half show. Sometimes, I don't get to listen for a few days.

Now the gap between the current show and my current show is getting longer and longer. :)

As of now, I am listening to the show for 14th Aug 2008! The one where CM went on a rant about Ferne Cotton and Steve Jones (great show btw).

I can foresee I will have a gap of one year a few months later.

For comfort reasons, are there anyone as 'devoted' as me?

No. If I miss a show I go on here to find our if I missed anything important or just listen to the podcast instead.

I love the show and listen whenever i can - but for goodness sake, I'm not going to lose any sleep of I miss a few. There isn't a test at the end you know.

I thought the fact that he is in Singapore was the most interesting part of the post. Cheer up Andy.

I read it that he is from Singapore, as in he was from there but now lives in the UK. Although I probably read it wrong. Am trying to cheer up. Just got a new phone so that has put me in a better mood!

I am living in Singapore.

OK, I probably asked for it when I created the post. I compare listening to CM with watching a TV series. You don't skip episodes or seasons.

Hope you are in a better mood.

But it isn't episodic, it doesn't follow on - it has nothing whatsoever in common with a TV series. So why on earth would you make that comparison? And are you implying that for most people missing an episode of something we have been following is the end of the world? I agree its irritating, but for goodness sake, its just telly, its not life! I hope my life is never so empty that I get anxious because Season 4 of Bones is starting and I HAVEN'T SEEN SEASON 3 YET!

Seriously, you have some skewed perceptions there.

Apologies for my grumpyness yesterday, better today. Although I do think its a bit odd to do follow the show like that, and to compare it to a series on TV, but if that is what floats your boat then thats up to you. Enjoy...

It could in the vaguest sense be compared to a soap opera albeit a slightly random one. So if you go away on holiday, you miss a few episodes but then you watch a few and ask people what you've missed and violin! you're back up to date.

Yes I am as devoted as you, however i never let myself fall that far behind, i record the show on sky+ 6:25am-10:05am, only takes up 0.5% of memory (if that)

i am currently listening to Monday 2nd Feb's show and havent missed a show since august 2006! (however i am debating whether to bother when moyles is climbing the mountain as i dont really like vernon kay)

I Hate to think ive missed something and if im less than a week behind ill listen on 'listen again' whilst im on the xbox

Hope that has provided some 'comfort' you're not alone!

Oh and how do u download them? and where from?

I use something simply called 'iPlayer Downloader'. http://po-ru.com/projects/iplayer-downloader/
It's quite easy to use and saves it in handy mp3 format.

I'll admit to being a bit of a complete-ist when it comes to the show. However, my radio records it on to SD card every morning so it's not hard for me to hear the whole thing when I drag my lazy student arse out of bed. I don't miss much (in fact I don't think I've missed a show since I got my new radio), but if I was as far behind as the original poster I'd suggest just skipping to today or you'll never catch up!

I've just had a go at using that system, but when Itried to download the Chris Moyles Show from today I got the message 'The program file is not currently available. If it's new, try again later'. I then tried to do the same thing with Monday's show and I got the same message. Now I wouldn't consider Monday's show to be 'new', so do you have any ideas as to why it's not working for me?

It works for me. What are you pasting into the Programme ID box? I pasted the ID for Friday's show (b00hg7y1) and it worked perfectly.

I'm pasting in exactly that (b00hg7y1), and it's still saying the same thing. It doesn't really matter, as I don't think I'd really want or need to d/l shows too often, I'm just curious as to why it won't work for me.
