The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Is there any more point to it yet? I'm open to registering when someone convinces me there's a good point to it.

I really don't think there is. But you won't know unless you try.

When someone convinces me there's more point to it than the facebook status then I might. Until then... nah.

It is for people like me that doesn't have the commitment for a facebook page or who cannot be bothered.

So you keep saying, silly boy. Bonan being on there aside, you can get texts when the people you're following post something. It's fun - though in my case, I shut it down at night as you're all a bit too blabby and I'm freaking old and need my sleep.

I think once you've deleted the account, it's gone. Sort of like AOL's old policy.

I meant why was it deleted? Did Yuddy do one of those I am been here forever and now all you kids want to play, so I am not playing any more, type hissy fits?

No - I had a bad week, and I got depressed and decided that watching everyone having fun and having lots to say on Twitter wasn't helping my depression, because I had nothing to say for myself. What I should have done was just not log in for a week, but I was feeling VERY bad so I deleted my account, not in a hissy fit, more of a bout of muddled thinking.

I feel a bit better now.

Oh, sorry to hear that. Glad you are feeling better now.

I can see anyone having fun on it though, it's very tedious very quickly isn't.

Facebook for the iPhone means I dictate when I want to read the latest updates, when I'm on the move or at home. A text message every time someone updates would annoy me. I get emailed if someone replies to something I wrote on Facebook, that's quite sufficient for me.

I think the factor that determines the 'best' social networking site is simply where all your friends are.
For me, almost everyone I know is on Facebook, so I don't really get the interaction you're supposed to have on Twitter.

To some extent the pros and cons of all the social networking sites don't really matter. They're made good by who's on there.

I agree, alot of my friends are on Facebook, AFAIK none of them are on Twitter so I don't have an inclin (sp) to join, even if Chris & the Team, Schofiled & the legend that is Stephen Fry are part of it.

However if everyone moves over & leaves Facebook I may change, however I think Facebook is too big now for that to happen, more than likely everyone will have an account on Twitter & Facebook (like I imagine some have a Facebook & My Space account).

It would annoy me too, which is why I changed the settings so it doesn't happen.

I still can't offer anything more positive than that though!

I got a reply from Matt Fincham, I feel so special! My friend got one from Russell Brand the other day tho, so I think she wins.

Actually, most of my friends are on bebo. I still prefer Facebook. I'm slowly getting to realise that bebo sucks though!

Let's be honest, unless you are famous and have a shed load of fans, it's pretty useless. The only thing i can see it's good for is stalking celebrities, but legally.

I have a couple of friends that I hardly ever see - we keep up to date on there, same as most people do on Facebook I guess. But you are right, it is silly and pointless in the main.

I agree, it's been pushed so much by celebrities recently because they can get so many people following them. It's not so interesting if you are a follower. Although I did enjoy the Bad Movie Club last night!

That's probably the best description of Twitter I've seen yet.

Figured I was just being anal about the whole thing. I've signed up, twitter has two weeks to convince me it's worth using.

It's done one good thing. It's reintroduced me to Dave Gorman. I'd forgotten just how witty that guy is. I really should buy a book or two of his. And, you know, read them.

Actually, I should read more period.
