You are a disgrace and I'm looking forward to when someone you respect dies so I can rub your liberal face in it.

A punch in the face.

However, wikipedia does have a bit on it - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celebrity_ ... ontroversy
Having read it, I have to say that it looks to me like Jade has been tarred with a brush that should have been aimed elsewhere. Sure, she's not exactly faultless but the little blonde footballer-grabbing bimbo seems to be the biggest culprit! Better still, Jade was the only one to apologise of the three that got the racism/bullying accusations and has done more to try and mend things than anyone else. Although given she's the one that's been hit hardest by this, I'm not surprised.
Why have the other two got off so lightly? Is it because Jo is a nutjob who went paranoid after appearing on the show? Did Danielle get away with it because she's young (apparently Shilpa Shetty herself said as much!)
I did find one bit of footage from another part of the show where there was some argument over chicken stock cubes. After ten minutes of watching that I couldn't help but think Shilpa Shetty was a pain in the arse.

I don't think any right minded person could disagree with that. But I do find it odd that when someone who is disliked gets cancer, people suddenly stop disliking them and pretend that they care. And when someone like Jade Goodey, who we have only heard of because of the ludicrous culture of pointless celebrity we have developed, gets cancer, people who didn't give a toss about her when she was well and screeching make a massive fuss about her.
People I know and love are suffering from and in at least two cases dying from cancer right now, and my dad died horribly painfully from it four years ago. I care deeply about them. I don't know Jade Goodey, I'm sure she has plenty of friends and family who love her and care just as deeply about her as I do for my friends and family. But I don't know her, and I can't pretend that her death among those of thousands of other total strangers that will occur on the same day means anything more to me than they do. And of course that isn't nothing, but it just isn't relevant, or helpful.
And I love you Boboff.
Topher wrote:This really annoys me (as nicola_red knows). If someone is an 'orrible * (to use the words of Brick Top in Snatch), why on earth should you feel sympathy for them? I'm not for a moment suggesting Jade Goody is a horrible person - she may or may not be - I'm not speaking about anyone in particular; but if someone really is horrible, why should you feel sorry? I understand that no even partially-decent person would wish something as horrible as cancer on anyone - but if someone like Gary Glitter, to use Andy B's example, were to suddenly get cancer, he'd get no sympathy for me. There's a difference between not feeling sympathy and actually wishing something on someone. To draw on a personal example that I've spoken to some on this board about, I can truly and honestly say that I hate my sister's ex-partner (and Joel's dad). He's the only person I've ever hated and it's not a particularly nice feeling. I can't, however, bring myself to hope that he gets cancer.
As an aside, I know an ex Detective Sergeant who used to get tons of abuse, as I suppose is to be expected in that job. He says the worst one was a woman telling him "I hope your mum dies of cancer". I can't comprehend that kind of scum.
