Quick suggestion - when new CMS are available, how about adding them all the the first post on this thread so that everything is one place? No big deal, just an idea. Otherwise - thanks a million!

I have thought of that & TBH I was planning on copying everything to the first post, seperated into "Johnny 1989's posts" & "Everyone else's posts". However at this current time I am too drunk so I had best leave this to tomorrow

Just logged in for the first time in a while, Johnny, just saw your question on the MNL shows, I will work on getting them uploaded soon, I'm going to be very busy for the next month, then not at all busy after then.... :(

No worries, there's no rush, whenever you have time to upload them :) If you like I can add them to the top of this thread (of which they will be credited to you of course) as I plan to eventually edit my only M&L Show, plus it'd make more sense to have both Moyles and M&L in one thread seeing as several fans like both :D

I notice you have put that you are going to be busy for the next month then not at all after that and have put a :( smilies. Hope everything is ok.

New update today, please note the show is from Friday 1st December 2000, not the 1st November, that's more than likely my fault when I sent the file over to TIAL.

Available to download on page 1, first post.

Quick question, I did plan to remove all of the text for the older downloads so as to stop people from trawling through a long post. Would you ladies & gents rather I kept the information for all shows in the original post, post the links on the first post but also on my new posts or do you ladies & gents think that once a file has been up for a month the text for each show is no longer needed?

Your thoughts please :D

Yes I didn't really sell that in my post above did I  I haven't even given it much of a line up on the front page either.

However as TIAL says it's great & a must, especially if your a fan of the man and/or The Royle Family. I shall write up the show tomorrow night, with possibly another show to add (which I never got round to uploading tonight)

This is really impressive stuff Johnny, thanks again for all your hard work, I'm really enjoying listening back to the old shows.

It's almost getting to the point where you need your own webpage to track all this stuff, it feels like it's starting to outgrow a simple thread. I wonder if our glorious leader Chris might consider giving you an archive page of some type, maybe a subsection of the "Sounds" page for example? It'd help you keep it all organised.

Whatever...I'm just sticking my nose in again, feel free to ignore me. In any case, thanks a million, it's really appreciated.

No problem, TIAL has also been a great help with this as he has edited the majority of them so far (another one is to go up here tonight) :D

I was only just wondering last night, whether or not people were enjoying these or not as well

I have thought about a seperate webpage but I'll be honest I haven't a clue as to how to set one up, etc. The files I gave Chris he kindly uploaded in his sound vault for me. The reason I stopped was because I felt a bit bad keep badgering Chris with new files to upload, especially now he has more going on in his life, so after speaking to Console I decided to set up this page.

I should really post a "check list" of what's been done and what is yet to come (I think you may all be suprised at the length of that list to be honest ). I do have a lot more recorded than has been edited, however there are several sound issues with alot of them, which means I need to retape the buggers again :x which I have started doing again recently.

Anyway Your not sticking your nose in :) , I had given it a thought recently anyway, that's why I decided to split the main page up as I have at present, I have added a new Mark & Lard section as I plan to finally edit that one show I have, sometime this week  I should point out that the dates I have put for each section refer to that shows particular time on air, in some cases I don't have shows from the earlier dates (hence why the section for "The Early Bit" is missing, I have some shows from that era but I downloaded them off the web. They are complete shows which I could edit out the music, but they're not mine so I feel inclined to do so at present).

I also plan to do a "random clips" section sometime in the future as well, I have two clips of Chris from Capital Fm that weren't part of the two shows I have. They were two trailers played in Neil Long's show where Chris does some (bad) impressions of the other DJ's & several pop stars of the time, I've just got to find the tape now

Anyway, we shall see where this thread goes, suffice to say there is alot more to come yet, including more Breakfast shows (mainly from 2005 & 2006) and quite a few complete or half complete shows from 2001, of which half of them are rather new to me as I think I got to a stage of just taping them & never listening back to them.

Anyway I'm whittling now, anymore thoughts on where to go with this thread, please just reply to this thread or PM me :D

1 question - how do you have all of these shows?! Its mind-boggling to someone like me - I wouldn't have a clue where to start with any of this sort of thing - so thank you! You're doing an amazing job! :D

I feel a bit embarrased saying this, but I kind of looked up to Moyles when I was younger. I first catched his show back in 1997 when I was 13/14 years old & then from 1999 in the afternoons. I enjoyed his show so much that I kind of wanted to be a DJ like him myself

Of course I don't have the wit, or voice (my voice is a horrible drony London/Essex accent  ) to do what he does so never ever persued trying to get into radio :( as he says in his book to be successful you have to have "something" to get to where he has, something I unfortunately don't.

I did start taping them in 1999 but only ever did three shows as I only had a limited amount of tapes & obviously my GCSE's to study in the first half of 1999.

In 2000 this then increased dramatically near the end of the year mainly as my favourite team member of the time, Melinda, was leaving, so I decided to tape as many as I could. Tapes in 2000 had dropped dramatically in price so when I had a spare bit of change I used to by a pack of five or ten 90 minute tapes.

By 2001 I was taping rather frequently, college had become rather a joke (we had six tutors when we started in Ocotber 1999, by January 2001 all but one had left, plus they told us that our course was redundant & that we wouldn't be able to do the new one, cheeky b*st*rds). Anyway due to the increase from 1hr 45mins to 2hr 45mins half of the shows from 2001 are only half complete, some however I did use two tapes for, when I had quite a few blanks spare. I then experimented in September 2001 & tried to tape one on Mini Disc, which worked successfully & to this day I wish I had taped them on Mini Disc much earlier (I had a MD recorder since August 2000) as I'm now finding out that the tapes are deteriorating quite rapidly.

In 2002, after the mass recording I slowed down quite a bit (only six shows recorded in 2002) and this was probably more to do with being on the dole for most of 2002 (of which I was on work experience placements & training courses) and later getting a job. Also with Jon Culshaw being dropped & a change in the style of the show I kept revisiting the shows from 2000/1 as I prefered them.

By 2003 my interest in the show had wained & so I only ever recorded two shows (one from April & the last ever show), something which I now regret in some ways.

In 2004, only one show, which was the first ever breakfast show, which at the time I still wasn't that big a fan of the show and was possibly still missing Lizzie & Will at that point

However in 2005 I started taping them again & did so, at random until late 2006. However due to problems with my Mini Disc recorder I stopped and never started again until late 2008 when I finally worked out how to tape them.

I'll try & post that list tonight, I think you ladies & gents may be a bit suprised as to how much I taped back in the day

I'm just glad that people are enjoying them :D

As promised earlier a complete list of the shows I have from 1999-2006, I should point out a few things:

1) Any show from 2004 onwards are to be fully assessed before been edited & uploaded, the Mini Disc record I was using at the time was temperamental & could (at times) miss gaps in the recording, most shows from 2006 haven't been checked so until these have been assessed, I cannot say whether or not all of them will be uploaded here.

2) Any show dated Tuesday 18th September 2001, onwards was recorded on Mini Disc and as such if there are any sound problems this will be down to interference unfortunately. Anything from Saturday 15th September 2001, previous was recorded on Cassette tape and as such the sound quality sadly varies greatly.

3) I did not record any shows in 2007 due to the temperamental Mini Disc recorder, I have recorded some in late 2008 (including the last week of 2008) and quite a few in 2009 but I have decided not to start editing these until the majority of the below have been taped, edited & uploaded.

Below is the list, from what I know it's complete, at the bottom is the key to colours & also the total amount of shows there is in total in my "archive"

Be Prepared, it is a very long list:

 I know, I never realised I had so many TBH. It's going to take me until, at least, until Christmas this year to copy these over, I'm going to copy the cassette shows first as the tapes a rapidly deteriorating.

Another one will be up within the next half hour, with thanks to TIAL.

EDIT: New show now added - Friday 19th January 2001, as ever at the top of this thread. :D

I forgot to ask, is anyone interested in the classic Breakfast shows, I've only got round to recording one of those so far & was just interested as to whether or not anyone was interested in them so as to know whether or not to record any more over or to leave them for a while.
