Hi, this is my first post and I would like to get something off my chest-now I'm not one of those people who come on just to slag off the show-in fact I really like the show, I listen every morning and have done for 3 years.

However, there is one person that just seems to be getting more and more annoying, and that's Dom. I just don't understand what he actually adds to the show, and his news/weather reports are done so badly too.

I just wondered if anyone else gets annoyed with Dom, or is it just me?

Lol...you can hardly compare the two-Chappers is Scott's sidekick really, Dom is a newsreader. Dave is Chris' sidekick.

Didn't mean to be unfriendy, but like Zoot said, if you carry on there are people who potentially will be.

Dom's great but I prefer it when his wit is spontaneously interjected into the show rather than contrived, which it has been a bit of late. Maybe thats what you've picked up on bob.

Maybe you're right-maybe it's because it's more contrived.

It just feels like he keeps trying to be funny, like forcing himself.

When I first started to listen to Moyles, it was about 3 or 4 years ago when Dave was in a Bad place with his first wife, and I remember thinking how crap he was, and how unapt the tiltle Comedy Dave was. Things do change though, and I now find his giggle very endearing indeed. Dom is funny, but at the end of the day he is a newsreading Journalist, who is not paid by the BBC on a contract to entertain. He is not a "free agent" like Chris and Chappers and Dave, so we really should cut him some slack.

Which has just made me think of something. When he dies his Folk Face stuff, does he have to do that on his own time? I mean I can hardly see Auntie letting him have a couple of hours off so he can go swanning off with Sir Andrew Lord Lloyd Webber? If that is the case I think it's a tad unfair.

I actually find him rather funny so I am going to be bias, although I can understand why people may not like certain team members that much.

Dom's talent (quoting from a certain book here I know) is being able to switch from Chris's random links to serious news, e.g. being wound up about being so gullible when it comes to U2, switch to read the news, and then back to having the team poke fun at him! I'm amazed how he does it, especially with them all still in the studio as he reads the news

He's like a narrator, also a spokesman for the audience, the casual listeners, this enables Chris to get on with being funny and outrageous without getting carried away. His journalistic presence is important, he can give an eye-witness account of proceedings, he's very good at it too, his timing is great. He chips in and everything just goes that little bit smoother with him around. He definitely contributes to the warm vibe in the studio, and loads more besides, it's Dom for Gods sake! It'd be like going completely deaf in one ear without him.

Ye i find him funny. Did anyone see the video they did for Chris and his little bob up and down at the end. Its little things like that, that make him so funny as well.

Yep its just the little things like that, it goes without saying he gets the show - 100% He knows about the style of the show in these instances, the mock sincerity, the subtle manouvering of his bald head completed the video. Perfect.

In addition to my post earlier today I forgot to point out that he's my favourite team member as well. It'll be a sad day when/if he ever decides to go.

Although I personally prefer Dave, I don't see at all how anyone could hate Dom! I don't think he's annoying at all, in fact in my opinion - his voice is my favourite out of the team. Sounds a weird thing to say about a person, but on radio it is fairly important. I don't think the show could go on properly without his bald head!
