EXCLUSIVE SHOWDOWN

Two of Britain's gobbiest celebrities will go head-tohead with rival chat shows next month.

Piers Morgan's Life Stories will continue on Sunday nights on ITV - going up against new Channel 4 show Chris Moyles' Quiz Night, which starts on March 22.

And it already seems there is little love lost between the rival presenters.

Last week, Morgan, 43, upset Moyles by slating Jonathan Ross as "sycophantic" and "not worth the money".

Moyles, 35, stuck up for Wossy, calling Morgan "deluded" and urging him to "buy a one-way ticket to LA".

A source close to Morgan, said he was "very confident" of beating Moyles in the ratings after pulling in 5.1million on Sunday with his first show, featuring an interview with Sharon Osbourne.

But a Channel 4 insider said: "Chris has more than seven million listeners on Radio 1 - and a lot will be tuning in to his TV show."

I'm looking forward to the TV Show, I think Chris will pull in the ratings. :!:

Much as I love Chris, I think he will pull in the ratings to start with, its all new. But he's always been much more successful on the radio.

I'm not confident Moyles will hit the five million mark to be honest. That said, I'm surprised Morgan does.

Unfortunatly i dont think that Chris will win the ratings.

Channel 4 just dosent pull in the ratings, thats all. I dont think i've seen channel 4 pull in 5 million viewers for a long time. Unlike ITV who with Piers show pulled in 5.1 million viewers last week.

Also, I think that Chris' show could start well with around 3/3.5 million viewers and then slowly decrease - just because its a 'quiz show'.

Thing is I'm surprised that ITV still pull in that many viewers TBH. With the exception of TV Burp everything else is pure sh*te

I hate to say it but i've enjoyed Piers first two shows. I dont really like him but i like his guests.

I'm sure the profile of the guests will go down over the next few weeks.

I'd rather stick grapes up my nose than lose life pointlessly watching Pissface Morgan.

Agree with comments, Chris is always better on Radio, but will still be tuning in to check out his offerings!!

I've just had a look at the guest list.

Sharon Osbourne
Sir Richard Branson
Katie Price
Sheila Hancock
Ulrika Jonsson
Richard Madeley

As far as I'm concerned not one of them is worth watching that odious pillock for, but then I'm hard pressed to think of anyone who would be. The fact he is even able to get his own show speaks volumes about both ITV and their audience. Apparently (Guardian) Jade Goody is in talks to grant him her last ever interview. I despair.

What the hell is Richard Branson doing on that list?

I was surprised to see Sheila Hancock on there as well. I assume she has something to plug, and Morgan will no doubt try and get some tears out of her over her husband. I find the whole thing grubby and sordid, like most of his work.

Is there any particular reason for that (apart from the fact it would get him off TV, which is already a pretty compelling one)?

Yes. He was the one who invented stories about folk in the army toturing prisoners of war and printed hoax photos. He made a career out of ruining lives and does not tell the truth, he tells a story. He stands for everything that is wrong with the media, newspapers in particular.

After getting caught and fired for printing the fake photos, he then goes on and gets given contracts both on US and UK tv no doubt worth millions of pounds? Something about that feels very wrong to me.
