The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

is it me. Or does jo whiley not like chris. Yesterdays cheap dig at chris. And today. They overran by 2 mins. And jo said it was ok. Normally jo seems annoyed when chris runs over. But today jo was not bothered.
Am i reading too much into it or does anyone else see this!

I missed the handover today but it was appalling yesterday, very rude and her envy was almost oozing out of the radio. I don't think you are reading too much into it.

todays handover basically was 2 mins late. Vernon apologised and jo said it was ok. (like another dig at chris) note when chris has been late. Jo has like been in a bad mood with him. And chris having too say he will give her the 2 mins back. Etc. Vernon today was getting away with it. Like jo prefers vernon too chris.

We're gonna have too badger for sara back because i feel that it will turn ugly and not in a good way for chris.

I think jo is still on the air because of her husband and that she can get all the big acts too come in. And without her. Radio 1 feel they can't get them in as confidently.

I thought the handovers last week were fine though; maybe not the same banter as with Sara, but still seemed to be fine.

Yes, she's only showing her true colours now Chris is halfway up a mountain in Tanzania and can't say anything back.

I've never met her, but I know people who know her and have it on good authority that she is a genuinely nice person. I've not heard the handovers this week, so can't comment, but I'll listen again at some point.

Even nice people can suffer from the odd bitchy moment - and its undeniable that there has always been an air of competitiveness if not outright hostility between her and Moyles. Its understandable - before Moyles took on the Breakfast show Jo Whiley was, of the daytime presenters anyway, the most senior and the most respected - and you can't deny that she wears her credentials (as she sees them) on her sleeve. Moyles is no respecter of that, and she'd be a remarkable person if she didn't feel that he was somehow diminishing her status at Radio 1.

She does seem to have gone out of her way to make obvious digs at Chris during the handovers with Vernon. If she doesn't mean it, then she can't be very clever because she is making herself sound quite bitter.

It might just be me, but i haven't heard anything in the context you lot are talking about. Nothing i've heard has given me the impression she doesn't like Chris, is jealous of him or anything like that. I just hear the usual banter they have at the end of the shows.

Or am i missing something?

Possibly - but who knows? She just annoyed me - I'm going to stop going on about it now.

I'm with you, I can't see where there was any element of bitchiness or jealously in anything Jo said or the way she said it. Obviously some people heard what she said in a totally different way than I did. I'm not a particularly big fan of the woman, but a lot of venom seems to have been aimed at her here for no reason that I can see!

I'm the same. Not a huge great fan of Jo Whiley but I don't understand all the hate (or the accusations that she's dissing Chris by being nice to Vernon).

I totally agree with you 2. I haven't heard today's but I just went a listened to yesterday's handover to see what the fuss was about and I can't see one slight problem. I think a lot of people on here have a problem with Jo and are looking for any excuse to have a go at her. Her comments about being in a good mood were clearly and solely a compliment to Vernon as he is always in a good mood and always bright and bubbly. He can put you in a good mood. As funny as Chris is and as much as I like him, he doesnt always have that same up-beat vibe that Vernon has about him.

She will want Radio 1 Breakfast though.......

Dya think? I'm not so sure. The key to her show is the guestlist that she can pull in and the Live Lounge performances, I'm not sure she'd get all that as early as the Breakfast show.

Yeah, Jo is clearly a stalwart to the slot she has been given and in my opinion does it well. In fact, if she had to do the breakfast show, she wouldn't be able to get the train in from Northampton - she'd more than likely have to up and move to London and she has a family to think about.
