No. If you dont like hearing other peoples views, an idea behind a forum, then I think you are the one who has the choice to 'go away' - as you put it.

Sorry sir/ma'am, for having an opinion.

and now....back to the thread topic.

As others have said they would not risk lying there is far to much on the line (Aled/Pier's jobs would be the first!).

What may well have happened is they've carefully chosen the targets each day to make them achievable based on listening figures, previous fundraising attempts etc.

Yeah, I'm bit bemused at the 'non-believers'.... Why make these figures up? I know i've donated EVERY day so far this week, since introducing the text challenges.... A few quid to get the team doing these things would be worth it anyway, but the fact that quid goes to a really really good cause makes it all the better!!

And at least they've beem more imaginative than sitting in bath of beans!!

I'm not a 'non-believer' but i just see it as abit fixed as to how it goes up in the nice trend they want.

I understand it could just be coinsidence but as this is a charity event the BBC could save some of the money from donating one day and use it on another. The papers would not say anything as its for charity and it dosent really matter either way.

I think its great that they have raised so much money.

There is no way that the donation figures are fixed. The BBC has gone waaaaaay beyond what it actually needed to do to make sure that in matters such as this they not only do it right but are absolutely transparent. Its cost them a lot of money and a lot of hassle to do this. They aren't going to * it up when they get to to something like this which has to be demonstrably above board and absolutely accountable to scrutineers.

And S4B, yes, Dave was talking earlier about not finishing the second run - he has held his hands up to being a pansy, fairy, wimp and girl.

Hmmmmmm....... Yes, i'm sure they could!!! I believe all todays donations are linked directly to Aleds bank account.

What the heck are you on about.....I never said they would keep money and send it to aled..I said that they could save money from one days total and then add it another.

EG. Monday - they actually get 40,000. But the total they give out is only 20,000.
Tuesday - they get another 40,000. Then they add the other 20,000 from yesterday and voila - the total they give it 60,000!

Comic relief still gets all the money and the BBC dont keep anything but the totals sound more impressive each day.

Says you who resorts to capital letters and is kicking your dummys out the pram because you cant take someone else having an opinion on something (which, yes is probably wrong) but everybody has there own feelings on this.

Get over it and deal with it.

End of.

Thay definitely can't do that. It would be far too easy for the overseers - and there are overseers - to pick up on that. The one thing the BBC won't risk now is a repeat of any suggestion of wrongdoing associated with donations, and the Comic Relief organisers will be just as keen not to get dragged into any accusations again.

in4308, I hear what you're saying, but you haven't thought it through.

I've not seen any reasoning. I'm wrong.....sure, i may be. But you cant be certain, therefore your wrong for stating im wrong.

I tend to disagree - it is reasonable to be certain given the BBCs committment to transparency in cases like this.

Yeah, i know it is.

But people need to see that other people can see something else, sure it may not/wont be true but it can atleast be stated!

It happens everyday.

So, if we can now get back to topic.

Vernan will today be absailing. Also, a great picture:

The red nose total also stands at: £919,513.

Most of which is from Radio 1.

You are implying the papers have at least an ounce of decency, which in my opinion is simply not true.

Just not in this case, they wouldn't dare do it! So no need for you to state it!

Pretty much all the rest of it is via GMTV. But most of the people doing the climb (with a couple of notable absentees) came on Chris's show to do their publicity and fundraising pushes, so it might be a bit misleading to look at it like that.

Its adding to the excitement. And I know it sounds patronising, and I really don't mean it that way - but the fact is it makes me feel so proud! Not of myself, but of the show, of Chris, and of the power of this audience. Its awesome.
