The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Yeah he is, shame he won't be at 5 Live for too much longer (common knowledge that he's not moving to Salford in 2011).

Although the rumours he's lined up to replace Ken Bruce at Radio 2...if that happens I might well start listening to R2 especially if R1 becomes Switch 24/7!

Haha, I was thinking that yesterday. They really seem to be plugging Switch a lot recently. Personally I think it's a step in the wrong direction.

I saw this in a free London paper yesterday, they listed Moyles, Wiley, Mills and I think Coxy. But oddly the only younger ones they mentioned was Grimmy and Reggie - what about Fern and Greg??

Can't see it happening, can sort of see their point about the audience growing up with them but surely thats also what you want, that's what keeps the figures so high all the time! If they went ahead that's about 80% of the DJ's gone??

I think there would be outrage were Chris to take over from Terry Wogan on R2 breakfast. I would consider my parents as target audience for TW i.e. they're mid 60's, wear comfy shoes and regularly go on caravan holidays. They also have a penchant for buying knitwear from M&S. There would be 'pea soup moments' up and down the country if Moyles rolled up burping and farting, and talking about 'cracking breasts'!!

I'm in a radio no mans land, too old for R1 officially (I'm 33), and too young for R2. Bottom line is that where ever Moyles does a show, I'll listen. I too like Volvo's and am considering buying a C30, although everybody I've spoken to thinks they're ugly!

Saying that, Wogan's readers do write in with some pure filth from time to time. Especially with the Janet and John stories. It's all wrapped up in innuendo though, so I suppose that makes it OK.

It's weird how people complain about Chris belching on air, when Wogan is slyly talking about blowjobs on the other side.

I think it would be a massive boost to Radio 2 to shake that all up a little. Or a lot.

Probably shouldn't be admitting to this - but my mum and dad have a couple of Janet and John CD's - theyre rife with innuendo!!

No need to admit to it. Hell, even I have one!

Ha Ha Ha.

This is so funny, in that it's like a new generation of twenty somethings are getting edgy that the BBC might try and keep the station on Target audience!

For me it was the other way around, and they went from Bates etc to * dance music and techno which I hate with a passion, you guys have seen the emergence of a decent radio station again over the last 10 years. They will not through the baby out with the Bath Water again, but.......

Mills has missed his chance for breakfast.

Gregg will be a stayer.

Grimy, who I like, will not stay long, but it just depends on how far he gets before his head gets to big for him.

Sarah will get Jo's slot in the next 12 months.

Edith will get pregnant again in the next 12 months.

Nihal will get Ediths Slot permanently.

So this time next year I predict, Gregg/Grimy, Chris, Sarah, Nihal, Mills/Gregg, Zane.

I don't like Nick Grimshaw, I hope he does go.

I think you could be right on all of those except Sara getting Jo's spot - I know a lot of people here don't like her, but she's been doing it a long while and I think she has quite a loyal fanbase.

If Moyles and Colin went, that'd be me pretty much finished with Radio 1.

I totally understand that R1's remit is to be a 'youth' station and that they would want their presenters to be of similar age to the audience. If that's the case then it would make sense for them to look at getting rid of Moyles. But his listening figures are so high, surely to axe that sort of potential audience would be suicide.

Without running the risk of sounding like other members, its *Greg and *Grimmy. Sorry......I just had the urge to correct you.

This wont happen, its just normal papers writing normal cr*p. If they got rid of Moyles, Whiley and Mills. They would also have to get rid of almost everybody else, including specialist.

Somehow it would not be right to keep Pete Tong who is 48 and Annie Knightingale who is 66, when they are trying to get rid of a 34 year old.

Although.....Get rid of Whiley & Nihal and i'm happy. Perhaps also just ship Westwood over to 1xtra permanently.

I must admit I have often wondered why the entire daytime schedule consists of DJ's in their mid thirties plus Jo Whiley in her forties. It has never bothered me, but it seemed strange considering the target demographic.

Anyway, if the bosses think that the likes of Grimshaw and Yates will pull in higher figures than Moyles and co they must have a screw loose. I would get rid of Edith, but that hasnt got anything to do with age. In fact I would replace her with Sara Cox.

The sad fact is that the kind of audience Grimey appeals to are all woefully under the age for which they can fill in a RAJAR diary so the figures will go down and they'll
Be criticised. Right now there is no-one who can replace moyles.

omg grimmy is fckn trrbl lol

(Seriously, he's REALLY bad. This is the first time I've heard him properly and I can't even understand why younger folk would like him - I must be really old now. If this is the future of Radio 1 then Radio 1 has no future in my life)

Out of interest, why do you dislike him?

To me he seems like a media savvy London Socialite who technically is not a bad DJ, and is actually quite funny.

He is aspirational in allot of ways, as he mixes with the celeb types, and could become a bit of a Chris Evans I think.

DJ's used to be allot bigger stars than they are now, I think thanks to various things, but mainly TOTP. He seems to transgress the media boundaries of TV & Radio.
