The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

...this from the TV preview section. Bear in mind this was a preview of the Comic Relief Fools' Guide show, which was about the comedy performers in CR, so probably wouldn't have featured Moyles (I didn't watch it, was watching a documentary on C4)...

"Giving to charity is pbviously a good thing but why does it have to prop up the careers of publicity-hungry fame-chasers who could well afford to stump up the cash themselves? If it's not Chris Moyles whining on about how hard it is walking up Mount Kilimanjaro - most people's idea of a dream holiday..."

climbing 20,000 feet? wearing the same clothes and not washing for 8 days? altitude sickness, headaches and nosebleeds? Minus 15 temperatures? Whose idea of a 'dream holiday' is this? It certainly isn't mine! Just another example of journalists using any medium they can to have a dig at Moyles' achievements. Grr. Just made me mad.

I'm sure the metro is owned by the same people who do the Daily Mail, they've never liked Chris Moyles.

Writing trash editorial is obviously a dubious thing but why does it have to prop up the careers of publicity-hungry rubbish journos who have nothing better to write about?

Honestly - see the good in the world rather than the bad or cynical - oh hang on, that doesn't sell so well does it?

Numpties.

Wow, nice to find out that the stylistic bollocks was actually concealing some intelligent content.

Ahh, editorials. The opportunity for one insignificant person with an over-inflated ego to talk out of his/her arse like his/her opinion is more important than anyone elses.

I'd ban them from newspapers personally. If I want opinions, I'll go on internet message boards and blogs. They're usually more informed anyway.

Thing is, a TV preview column isn't supposed to be an editorial, not in the conventional sense of the word. My journalism tutor would be most disapproving.

I wouldn't worry about these tossers too much, The Metro has gone downhill in quality in recent years anyway. The amount of times they have the same word next to each other (i.e. The Celeb clearly clearly was drunk) & in the same paragraph have the correct word missing (i.e. They (have) been there) occurs on a daily basis nowadays.

That kind of error reflects production standards rather than journalistic standards though. Not that I'm suggesting they are any higher.
