The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

It's that annoying noise he makes when he laughs, it winds me right up. Admittidly that's not really reason enough for me to dislike him, but it grates on me so much :x

Grimmy could potentially be quite good in the future... I don't think he's Radio 1 material at the moment.

This I'll agree with. At the moment he seems very amateur to the kind of thing you'd expect to hear on Radio 1. That coupled with his annoying voice and laugh... Those could grow on you if you listened often enough but at the moment you just wouldn't do that because of the poor standard.

Still, he's no Max from 1xtra.

i heard a rumour thatthe reason the live lounge has been moved to 11am from its old 12pm slot is because there wil soon be a new lunchtime show between 12 and 2 ,possibly with Greg James,or maybe Fearne and Reggie.Jo and Edith would lose an hour each.Personallyi think that would be a good idea

Yeah, Greg is good, Whiley should go and Chris is Radio gold. I can't see the Beeb getting him off R1 yet, yes i agree some of his material is not exactly target ref, but that is one hell of a pair of boots to fill. Chris's figures need to take a dive before he gets moved on....

As others have stated, I'd follow Chris to wherever. I only listen to R1 for the DJs, kepping up to date with the new music the kiddies are listening to is still enjoyable (obviously with exceptions to that rule - *Hunter for one!!) , although since I've just passed 30 I', assuming that'll change soon!! If its not Greg/Chris/Scott broadcasting on R1, the Mp3s come out instead.

Yeah, Radio 2 play some song that I like, I just find the DJs boring, discussion topics boring and irrelevant and the jokes to be cringe worthy 'oh dad! jokes'.

Chris is God - moving him on now would be audience suicide.

Radcliffe is still great on Radio 2, although I've never listened to other show on Radio 2 TBH.

I think, if anything, Moyles will be one of the last to go of the "older" DJ's (nice, I'm 26 this year which means, according to Radio 1's remit I'll be an OAP once I'm 30, thanks  ).

I do like Greg James, he's about the only new, young DJ I like on Radio 1, plus when he shouted out BOGIES on Great Portland Street just before Christmas he went up in my estimation :D

I wonder if that Radio 1 survey that people filled out before Christmas kind of revealed to the BBC Radio bosses that the audience were older than their remit & they have "flapped" so to speak?

I quite like Grimmy.
Good humour plus he seems to be able to put up with the painfully thin Alexa Chung without throwing up.

Well it was just because when he did that it kind of reminded me of when they used to send Melinda out on the streets to do silly things & the like. At least Greg isn't up his own ar*e, like a few others on there.

Nick Grimshaw annoys me more for the company he keeps rather than his skills or lack of them as a DJ. I can't stand the vacuous and talentless Peaches Geldof and all that set, and he's just another one of them as far as I can tell. All killing themselves to be cool and modern, and only succeeding in showing they have nothing of substance to offer anyone.

Greg James on the other hand appears not only to be a broadcaster already showing a lot of talent, but also capable of independent thought and opinion, instead of just trying to do what the "cool" kids are doing. He just needs to be careful not to morph into Scott Mills in a couple of years.

*gets off soapbox*

He's actually less like Scott Mills now than he was when he first started.

That can only be a good thing

I don't dislike Scott but I couldn't listen to him everyday

Can't stand Grimey, not a big fan of Zane either.

At least with Zane you can sense theres some intellect there, I'd like it if Radio 1 let him loose a bit more, like a radio equivalent of 'Gonzo' at the weekend where he gets to show off a bit more of his mischievous side, unlike 'Switch' I can see it's a hit for MTV and at least has some entertainment value.

Grimey just floats up like a turd that won't flush, floats up and up out of nowhere, is already on the telly, already got his weekend breakfast show. He's like a Phil & Kirstie from that Property show on Channel 4, like a slap that came out of nowhere, first they get on Moyles's show, ( :? ) next thing they're being touted as household names..literally, I was as confused as the next person when Channel 4 gave them the most blatant plug ever - on the 'Sunday Night Project'. At least Kirstie is yummy, but they (and little middle class kid Grimey) need to be put back away in their shiny boxes now.

EDIT: AND ALREADY ELEVATED TO JOHN PEEL STATUS!!!!!!!!

i think Jo Whiley should go, she is a bit too out there for me and i am only 22. Moyles shoul stay otherwise it would be a catastrophic failure for R1 to let him go, Sara Cox should stay but for gods sake get rid of blood Nihal, that man is just insufferable.
Greg James is good but dont think he should have the Breakfast slot, same applies for Nick Grimshaw. Annie mac is good and i think she should take over from Jo Whiley. Edith, hmmmmm ok i suppose but not my favourite. Scott Mills is good and again shold stay. Cant believe Pete tong is nearly 50! That is funny when you think of him bopping about on the stage at a club!

It'll never happen.

I do wonder how long Nihal will last, who on Earth comes up with a feature entitled 'Whats Behind You?', thinks its a great idea then for the next 4 weeks continues it with 'Whats in front of you'/'Whats to the left of you'/etc. I've never heard such a twee feature, something even local radio would be embarressed by.

I'd sooner listen to Jo Whiley and that's saying something.

I think it's a genius feature. Very "of the now". Local radio couldn't dream up a feature.
