The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Too underline what i'm saying. Chris has done what very few people could achieve. And what very few people can claim too have done

mate, loads of people have done it. be under no illusion, its a comparative path. Fair play to them for using their celebrity to raise some money for a good cause but...........that was all they did. all the tears, rhetoric, joy etc, all for the camera and a bit of profile raising. Oh look, this coincides with chris getting a telly show

Strewth mate! Have you ever experienced altitude sickness? I can be cynical at times, even paranoid, but bloody hell - get real for god's sake.

Sorry Yudster but I think this one's serious.

thee moomin hunter wrote:neither, you?

Having read your subsequent posts, you're obviously not taking the piss, however you are clearly stupid. I get so tired of idiots like you - same tired old point of view, just another lazy thinker who takes his / her intellectual cues from the cheap and nasty sections of the media. Why don't you head over to Digital Spy, they'll love you there.

I hope for your sake you are still at school / college, then at least you still have a chance to learn a bit more about life. If you're already an adult then I pity you.

People have actually died on that mountain, it's no walk in the park.

In all fairness to the 9 celebs that climbed the mountain, they had personal helpers, bag carriers and guides. They didn't even erect their own tents, IMO any body could have walked the mountain given the support and finance they had. It normally takes people 4 days to climb it, this group took 7.

The vast majority of people who "do" Kilimanjaro are on package type trips which are fully supported by guides and porters in exactly the same way that this group was. And even independant groups would employ porters. The time taken depends on the route chosen - the so called "Coca-Cola" routes take four days, the more challenging ones take longer.

This is getting tedious.

How is that different to any of the other organised climbs? Answer: it isn't.

BhoyWonder wrote:IMO any body could have walked the mountain given the support and finance they had

Bull. The support (presumably you mean the support personnel who went with them) is the same for everyone who goes up. The finance? What does that mean exactly? What finance gave them extra help which wasn't available to anyone else? What finance got all of them up there when the normal failure rate is around 30% ?

It normally takes 4 days to do the Marangu route. They did the harder Machame one.

Seriously "BhoyWonder", if you're going to try and piss on everyone's parade, get your facts straight before you do it. Tit.

Oh im sorry. Chris Moyles is the new king of the hill. Stand aside Sharma, LaFelle, Brown, Moon, Hillary, Tensing, Moon, Moffat, Dunne, Parnell, Whillans and everyone else pushing/pushed the boundarys of climbing and mountaineering. You didnt need to dedicate your lives to it. You should have just raised a bit of money.

no i havent, i completely get the point, i forgot i was on a fan site. what he did was piss, the money he raised by being led up a hill on a jolly with some other slebs was so so great.

well footloose, ill bet thats what chris was thinking of all the way there and back, the money. If he wasnt paid to do it (which ill bet he was) he would have been thinking about it furthering his career, you know, getting that telly job he has always craved but never quite been good enough.

You on about his own T.V show that is starting on the 22nd March and was planned way before he decided to climb the mountain?

Why hasn't this cretin been banned already? Have we suddenly developed a soft side?
