I don't think he came across that way at all. He's a little awkward on television only because it's not his medium and he's inherently a shy person. 'Pillock' seems a little harsh, don't you think? Is it possible, Travis, that most of the people you know don't like or 'get' him, which would lead them to judge him unfairly in the first place? Certainly if someone has a preconceived notion about how he'll behave they'll read into his every mannerism, saying, "I knew it all along, he's a smug pillock!" just so afterward they can sit back, feeling quite satisfied with their percipience.
You seem to acknowledge that it wasnt me, but my friends/colleagues who thought he was a pillock on The One Show, but you seem to be having a slight dig at me for it!
Maybe I'm wrong..
Anyway, I agree that people with pre-concieved ideas will look for whatver they can to back those opinions up but I do think that Chris needs to think seriously about how he comes over on TV. He has said on air that he is shy and not as confident off air as he is on it and for us that know what he is like we dont think any less of him for how he appears on TV, but people who dont give his radio show a chance and just see some of his appearences on TV can, through Chris' fault in my opinion, think he isnt a particularly nice bloke.
That isnt MY view though! I love Moyles and listen to him every day and most days listen to a lot of it again in the evenings. I totally get him and will always listen to him for as long as he is on radio.
