The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I just dont know..Ive heard so many rumours that Fearne and Reggie are being lined up to take over breakfast in the next year or so.I hope itsnot true, but I am starting to fear the worst.too many politically correct people atthe BBC think Moyles is 'too hot to handle' it seems.Sadly it seems even Andy Parfitt may be one of them :(
#380171
I think it's probably just a warning to Chris that if he pushes it too far then he's out, I don't think Andy Parfitt wants to drop him, but there are only so many times you can defend someone for their behaviour, even if they are a "mate" (I don't know what terms they are on each other but I think Chris & Parf Daddy get on well enough)

From the BBC article:

"There are plenty of new faces," he said, naming recent arrivals such as Greg James, Kissy Sell Out and Kutski.

I know who Greg James is (and think he's rather good on Radio 1) but who the bloody hell are the other two, especially Kissy Sell Out, that's an even worse name than Rob Da Bank

Surely if anyone is being groomed to ultimately take over from Chris it should be Greg.

I agree, Greg does have the potential of having a good 3-4 year run at it, Reggie & Fern, well, does Fern still miss half the shows?

Kissy Sellout and Kutski were both rotational DJs on the 'In New DJs We Trust' show.

Kissy how has his own show. Basically his style is a fun mix of old and new dance/rave tracks, with lots of rock remixes, bootlegs and 80's influences. It doesn't take itself too seriously and is quite good fun. His minimix probably best sums up his style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPLn3ZTjbcQ

Kutski is more of a hard dance DJ, who still has his show on INDJWT. I don't really know much about him as I'm not so much of a fan of that style, but I hear good things.

If you're not into dance you probably won't like either :D

At the end of the day if the modern day beeb make Chris feel like they are cramping his style too much, then in the long run hes probably off away from Radio 1. If the right offer came along from the competition he might aswell jump ship if his talent isent being appreciated at the BBC. People like ourselves listen to Moyles ramblings in their millions precisely because hes not your run of the mill DJ and if the powers that be at the BBC don't "get" the show, its their loss, not Chris'es

Judging by little things like the chesy song version with lyrics, "now until they fire his ass, the saviour is here" , the team know the score too. The chances are that someday some silly little thing will be blurted out and that will be it.

If Fearne and Reggie/Grimmy is Parfitts ideas of up and coming talent then fasten your seatbelts...its gonna get ugly.

On the plus though, at least somebody in media Guardian isent singing from the old fogie/left leaning Guardian hymnsheet

Read the article. Paul Gambaccini also had a go at Russell Brand after Sachsgate saying he warned Radio 2 not to hire him!

Does anyone else think Paul Gambaccini may well be a complete ****** ?(insert own abuse)

Considering both Andy and Ben have always been staunch supporters of Chris in the past I'd say that this is just Andy trying to appease the papers but obviously in the current climate Chris just can't get away with the stuff he used to.

I don't think Chris is homophobic, racist, biggoted or a loudmouth Nazi but he does occasionaly push boundaries which are just not acceptable to push anymore. Call it a lapse into a bygone age if you will, I'm sure we all occasionaly say things that are unnaceptable, I know I do, but none of us broadcasts to 8 million people, a lot of whom are children.

I think while he is in a precarious position at the moment very little of it is his fault, sadly though once the papers have latched onto a target they don't stop pursuing until they get their result. He just needs to keep his head down for a few months till they find another target and if he's lucky they will move on.

It's crazy!

Approximately half of my friends are gay. They constantly make funny ironic 'camp' based jokes and I join in.

The key is that it's ironic! Chris doesn't have any homophobic tendancies, he's just having a laugh. Out of the 8 complaints to the BBC, I'll bet none were from gay men!

The British press needs to get a sense of humour!

Ah ok, fair enough. I can give or take that kind of music but Kissy Sellout does at least seemed to be a competent mixer (unlike Dave "The Weave" Pearce )

That was a nice, balanced article, being on Chris' side on the whole but also pointing out his tiny faults but not in a scathing way.

Paul Gambaccini was always a movie reviewer on TV-AM from when I remembered him, he seem a bit of a tosser back then.

Unfortunately the British media are mostly tossers, who learnt nothing from the Diana incident & make up scandal just to sell their filthy rags. I haven't bought a paper for over 2 months now because they're full of hypocritical bollocks.

See this is the thing, Julian Clarey for example is extremely camp & bases his whole routine on this. Dale Winton is the same also, how many times has he done the camp stereotype routine, not only on Moyles but on other shows like Buzzcocks, etc.

Moyles bashers get on my nerves, I wish people were so passionate against our politicians when it came to elections, however over half of the population can't even be arsed to go to go vote (although to be fair both parties are useless lying tossers.)

Wait a sec, I've been looking at the account that was posted from and it's a FAKE.
This time, the 'l' of moyles was replaced with a capital 'i'

Sorry for the double post.

In addition to this, the fact that we have a population of roughly 60 million people, the show is listened to by 7-8 million people & 8, just 8 people complained & now a DJ who has shown he is a competent, entertaining DJ could have his Radio 1 career ruined just because of those 8 people.

Seriously I've never got this, surely OfCom should take into account that the complaints to listener ratio should somehow make them realise that some people really take things too seriously. I mean things offend me on TV for example but I have too much of a life to bother complaining about them.

I just think it's absolute crap that not even 1% of the audience complained, yet the show could be pulled for good :x

Think I'll join you, although Carlsberg Export for me

Sorry for the rant but some people in this country really urk me, like the (white) couple who said Rowntrees were racist as there were hardly any black jelly babies in the packet they had, so Rowntrees retaliated with an apology & sent them a years supply of just black jelly babies.

Personally I would have told them to shove off and get a life
