Lot of similarities though. Up there with the Pope dying, Ken and Deirdre getting married thing in 2005 - IT'S WRITTEN IN THE STARS, OH YES IT IS.

I stopped with all that "it's a sign" stuff after Seville.

Basically that was when Celtic were going to win the UEFA Cup in Seville because it had a V in it. After all, we'd already beaten Suduva, Blackburn Rovers, Celta Vigo, VfB Stuttgart, Liverpool and Boavista on the way there.

The fact we were playing Porto didn't seem to enter many thoughts.

Blimey, Chelsea were good last night, best performance by a visiting side in Europe that I can remember - they're mad if they don't keep Hiddink on, they really are.

It appears I predicted Wednesday night better than Tuesday night as far as the Champions League goes. But even I didn't see a comprehensive away win for Chelsea or Bayern getting torn apart in the first half.

Not that I saw any of it being at the Celtic game at the time. At least we won. Seven games to go, and it's all top six teams from here on in.

I would like to point out that John Terry's a hateful * though. Horrible weasle of a man.

I will be delighted if John Terry never wins the Champions League in his career. It will already be annoying him that it's all his fault he hasn't won it already. That could eat away at him for the rest of his life with any luck.

Ooh, another omen...1976-77, European cup final to be held in Rome, Liverpool had to score 3 in the second leg of the quarter final to progress....

Also, back to the 1986 thing, late in that season an influential, goal scoring Liverpool midfielder called Steven got injured and missed the run in....

I've got loads of these :)

You know, I still wouldn't bet against Liverpool. Until they are actually out, they still know how to do this competition better than anyone. But this might only be because the absolute worst case scenario of any would be Chelsea winning it.

I've just got my tickets for my first ever football game. Oxford vs Northwich Victoria.
I think they're in the Blue Square Premier League but I can't be sure.
I'm very excited!

I'm definitely supporting Oxford, since I've been at Brookes for 3 years now.
Why are the officials so bad?

So, you've played well the last couple of games and played the same 11. For your next game do you:

a) Play the same 11 again, or as near as the injury list will allow?
b) dismantle the midfield, put a defender in there instead and then see how that goes?

Apparently if you do b) then the other team dominate for the entire first half until you put the midfield back the way it was at half time. Then you'll dominate again.

And they say being a football manager is hard. I suppose it is if you're a *.

I haven't checked the Rangers score but doubtless the gap is now down to a point with six games to go.

certainly a lot more poor ones than decent ones during our years in that BSP (as it is now).

good result for oxford tho... outside chance of play-offs if (as i hear you are) your appeal against the points deductions is sucessful

I am tempted to stick a pound on it. Maybe coupled with a Stevie G first goal.
