Except the whole point of Daffyd is that he ISNT the ony gay in the village. I, on the other hand, am the only git in the world that can't follow him!

Fry's twitter.

This line about gary also made me laugh from Fry's twitter.

stephenfryAll over. Chris M charming to me. I hope I didn't look like a bemused bewildered and baffled being. Gary Barlow turns out to be a poppet. X

Why would he ever have thought Gary Barlow would be anything other than a poppet?!

Great show, does seem to be getting better week on week. I think having friends of his on there helps, well from a fan's point of view anyway, he has better banter with them.

Great show, but Stephen Fry? What on earth was he doing there, especially when he spent most of the show looking as though he was wondering the same thing?

I'm not complaining as I like watching Stephen Fry, I just couldn't understand why he'd decided to do this particular show. He can obviously pick and choose what he's on, so I guess there was a reason for this one, it just doesn't seem to fit with his normal kind of output.

Perhaps he likes to reasure himself that he is a cut above the rest, hang round with idiots of a couple of hours, etc....

Another good show tonight. Not sure it will do as well in the ratings though.

Mind you, he was on Never Mind The Buzzcocks a little while back, and looked totally out of place on there as well. Although he seemed to get into that more than he did on this one.

Not sure how this particular one will go in the ratings, but overall the show seems to have been holding its own for the timeslot. It'll be interesting to see whether it gets another series at some point.

The ratings system confuses me. Dont they only get a few people then average it out?

And even with that, Sky keeps the channel on even if the TV is not, so doesnt that make false ratings?

You could say that about every single channel there is.

The ratings arn't taken from TV sets, etc, they are taken from people filling in a book or online form about what they watched. It is then multiplied by around 1000 per person.

It sort of works the same way as RAJAR (Radio listening figures).

I thought last nights show was the best of the lot, but sadly I think that had more to do with the guests than Chris. All three guests were excellent last night (including Stephen Fry who looked a bit bemused by it all) but Moyles just barely had the wit to come back with anything at all. It was particularly obvious when Barlow was having a jovial dig about the way Moyles has been talking about him ever since the Mountain climb. Moyles just didn't have anything to come back with.

Another thing is that the editing of the show is shocking. It is like someone has taken a machete to it and just randomly pieced it back together. Would also prefer more chat with the guests.

I have just massacred the show there, but I didn't mean it like that. The show is pretty decent, but Chris (and it is becoming a cliche now) just isn't the same on TV. His wit simply deserts him.

Oh, and Denise Van Outen is just about the most gorgous woman I have seen. She gets better with age :D

He is absolutely RUBBISH. When he runs out of 'Comic Relief mates' and the ones he has been hanging around with for years, the show will die... THANK GOD!

Everybody on the show has more personality and 'spark' except Chris..... They are carrying him but I guess they signed up on the 'mountain climb' 8O

It is clear that he needs a tight format with a posse pandering to his every comment. Trying to carry something on his own is beyond him.

Stick to radio cause this is another FAILED attempt.

I haven't watched any of these yet (kept missing them) but I do think Chris would do quite well if he had his own chat show on TV. He's great when it comes to interviewing celebs on the radio so surely that would translate well to TV?

Tut.

Somebody burp it and feed it will they..

Mountain mates or not, Channel 4 have the stars to book, don't you worry you wee head about that. I'm sure he will stick to radio too, for now, as he is never setting out to be a telly God, he is a radio God. Never did understand the 'stick to radio' bit, as its as if his career is solely dependent on him making the leap to telly, which it certainly is not, it's just a bit of a laugh on a Sunday night.

I did like those comments about the editing, I saw at least twice a cranecam sticking out on the right. Still enjoying it for what it is, that Westwood thing was brilliant, the man self-parodying himself, 'Westwood is Worried', Good stuff.
So although it has it's shaky technical moments in the studio, they are still able to get clever things done for them, Keane, Neighbours, very diverse collection of contributors.

Not been stated on sites so far because of the Bank Holiday.
