Front page of tomorrow's Sun. Moyles to leave Radio 1 by the end of the year. Just saw it on Sky. Now, I know it's The Sun, but, it's the front page story. They must be sure of it.

20 years ago the same newspaper had a bunch of lies on it. If that copy says it's Saturday tomorrow I'll be checking the calendar.

hope its not true though

Surely their revelation on the frontpage is just a publicity stunt. They should have used the other story, Lewis writing off a car, and they could have started a shit campaign to get him points on his license for being richer than the editor or some other bullshit.

I'll need to see something 100 times more concrete than it being in The S*n - and the fact it's on the front page holds absolutely no weight whatsoever. I want to see it on the BBC News web site before I even consider that it may be true.

it could be a publicity stunt, its surely a clever way and good way of doing it, to get extra listeners to the show, who dont already listen now

Saw this on BBC News channel, apparantly Radio 1 have issued a statement saying its rubbish.

Something along the lines that There are no plans and the Chris gets over 7 million listeners

Nice how The Scum have put this in the Saturday edition rather then a weekday one, it rather removes an immediate right to reply by Chris. I look forward to hearing a good retaliation by Chris on Monday.

I love tabloid articles that back up their claims with "an insider said", or "a source close to the star told us". Get some bollocks and name your sources! Also, what they've done is pick up on a recent route that was taken by someone (them again? Can't remember) and used it to suggest Chris will be going soon when firstly Andy Parfitt and Ben Cooper have rubbished those already and backed up their denials with fairly watertight arguments; and secondly, there are quite a few who are older than Chris, who would surely have to go first.

Do they get them to say certain words, and re-arrange them, like the team did to Fincham.

They could have got Security Billy to read something aloud, reorganised it and claimed it was from 'an insider'

More than that, they also claimed that “Chris is still in the dark about the moves behind the scenes", thus pre-empting the backlash Chris will say and rendering it useless to whoever believes the story - however better-informed it may be.

Jesus Christ, I never want to be famous!

Build em up and knock em down is what they do. Surprising considering how much Moyles raves about Sky+

Can't wait for Monday's show. I'll be up at six thirty for that one.

I came here as I just saw the article online, and re read it because I was shellshocked...

However

"Last night a Radio 1 spokesman insisted: “We’ve no plans to take Chris off breakfast. He hosts a highly successful show.”

But when asked how long Chris would stay at the station, the spokesman refused to comment.

And The Sun’s highly-placed source said: “The early plans to introduce a new generation of stars to the station are now under way.

“Chris is still in the dark about the moves behind the scenes, but Scott Mills has been made aware.”

I have no idea what to think :| Why would you take him off before you have someone else lined up?

Everybody knows that The Sun is a pile of shit, who for some reason hates Chris, as do most of its followers it seems, but I really cant see them making up something like this...

Only time will tell, but Chris is the only person worth listening to for banter on the radio at the moment.

Also at the moment he is getting more publicity than any other time with the mountain and his constant tv appearances (sounds negative, but you can never have too much Chris!) so it seems an odd time to let him go, unless he realised he was going soon and is looking for something else...

Monday seems like a long way away now! Going to be checking his twitter every 5 mins for news!

"Scott Mills has been made aware" What utter bullshit, I can't believe for a second that Radio 1 would operate like that or that the knives would be out in such a way.

It's great the BBC have denied this, and of course there's no way Scott Mills would be in the loop the way the paper have suggested. However, it does appear the knives are out for Chris and I do wonder if this is the beginning of the end of him on breakfast.

Bloody media scum make my shit hang sideways.

Just in case theres any truth in this story I hope Chris jumps before hes pushed. If he said in the autum ok ive beaten Tony Blackburns record so now Im off to anotherradio station I would applaud him.let the BBC struggle withut him.Theyve treated him like dirt from day one.He would get far better pay in the commercial sector anyway. And we would follow him wherever he went right?

If they did put Scott on Breakfast by claiming Moyles is too old it would be laughable Chris is a whole month older than Scott!

He will no doubt break the record that said we are certainly closer to the end of his time on breakfast than the beginning.

Presumably they would try to tempt Fearne and Reggie to take over,or God help us Nick Grimshaw 8O I guess a lot hangs on the next set of audience figures-anyone know when theyr e out?

If that does happens (as musch as it pains me to say so) i would catagorically say out loud noe that i would never listem to any radio 1 show again

Have they asked the listeners what they want? So what if he is past the 30 y.o bench mark my uncle in 46 and still listens to radio 1 religiously.

If he does "leave" radio 1 lets pray to god, buddah and all the others that radio 2 snap him up and replace wogan with him. Oh and lets also hope that the rest of the team i.e comedy dave, dominic, carrie, aled and rach (leave fincham there) go with him.

I have the sun delievered every day but i may just cancel my order unless they start publishing fact and not smear campaigns and utter bollocks

MY RANT = DONE

Do people not understand?! The article is clearly a complete fabrication. Get some savvy you lot. It's alright reading The Sun, if that's your thing, as long as you take it with a pinch of salt and don't believe everything you read.

Yes but there are certain sings that there could be an element of truth in it..for example they pulled that expensive advert they made for the station-could that be because they dont want to advertise Moyles show if they plan to get rid of him?

ps i wouldnt use the Sun for toilet paper for fear of catching a disease 8O
