I wish he would leave Fincham alone, but not because I think he's being bullied, more because this whole "I'm not talking about my love life but please don't ever stop asking me about it because I LOVE being the centre of attention" is irritating, and Matt Fincham himself is dull.

Yet seems to be convinced he isn't. The first member of the team in 7 years that's really irritated me.

If he wants to keep his love life quiet then he's entitled to.

But the point is that he DOESN'T. He loves it being talked about, he loves being the focus of attention even if he isn't actually saying anything interesting. Which he really isn't, is he?

I don't think he's ever deliberately brought it up though. I think while he does enjoy the air time (and again who wouldn't) I think he sounds genuinely uncomfortable talking about his relationship. Most wannabe presenters love air time exposure but a lot of people in radio are often very shy about themselves.

If he was genuinely uncomfortable about it all he would have to do would be to tell Chris off air that her really genuinely would appreciate it if he didn't mention it and that is what would happen. Or, if it did happen, he could simply not engage. Its really not difficult. But he simply loves it. I don't object to Matt Fincham enjoying air time, but I do object to someone as dull as him being given it.

I'm convinced that if someone wanted to keep something off-limits it would be discussed off-air and Chris would respect it. They kept Dave's break up with his now ex-wife off the air for about a year. In my view this is a trivial item which is being exploited to make good radio, with the implicit consent of all parties. If MF didn't want to be in it, he could quite easily stop it - I'm sure a quiet word to Rachel would get the message to Chris even if he couldn't approach him directly.

As for bullying - bullying, my arse. Some people need to spend a bit more time in the real world.

We're massively over-analysing - it's just typical CMS banter, and I've no doubt Matt is getting as big a kick out of it as anyone.

I saw a documentary on some supermarket extreme tabloid rag (Is it the enquirer? I can't remember) and they ran a story many years ago about an english second world war bomber being found on the moon. Apparently It was one of the most believed 'fake' stories they have ever ran. They interviewed a scientest who even pointed out that the area of the moon the plane covered in the photograph they printed with the story meant that the plane was miles and miles long.
