I've give it a quick listen back, it's better than mine, the sound is a little bit more compressed than my version, however the version Console has thankfully isn't over bassed so you don't have that irritating thump throughout the show which mine unfortunately has.

Thanks for finding that show gents, it's much appreciated, saves myself or TIAL (who has done the majority of them of recent) from editing it :D

There's also two more on Console's site:

Friday 22nd July 2005 - http://vimagination.zapto.org/Random/20 ... e-show.mp3

Sunday 25th December 2005 - http://vimagination.zapto.org/Random/20 ... s-show.mp3

That's not a mistype, it was broadcast on a Sunday although it was on tape and broadcast live (as Moyles mentions)

I would add them to the list above & credit Console but he may not want me to do that so best not

I forgot to download those links you added to this thread (Doh!) What I may try & do tonight is to do two "Podcast" style files, one for Summer 98 (last 9 files) and one for September 98. I think that may be the best solution to those.

I'm just converting them over now so they should be up here in the next couple of hours :D

Console wrote:I don't mind - best to keep all the links in the same place - although it should be noted that I got the recording of the first breakfast show from David, so he should get the credit for that one.

Thanks Console, did David edit the file as well as give it to you? Just so I can put the right credits on the right fields :D

No problemo :D

I'm going to try & speed up the September 1998 one tonight so that it plays at the correct speed. The September 98 one is brilliant, Ben Cooper is an excellent team member, also the couple of links where Chris & team were speaking in * accents made me laugh out loud several times on the bus this morning. Luckily the bus was fairly empty this morning

I hope to write the details up tonight, as well as the three breakfast show files, over the next few days also.

Probably a really stupid question but what do you listen to them on? I wanted to download several of the shows and put them on my iPod (work in progress getting a new 8GB Nano, got slightly distracted by the iPhone!) but it didn't seem to add it to my iTunes?

Any advice welcome as always! :D

They should work on iTunes, got to "Add File To Library...", search for the files & add them to your iPod.

Does anyone know who runs this site: http://www.c4h10o.co.uk/chrismoyles/

I'm going to try & edit these shows over the next week or so & I'd like to gain permission/credit the person who originally uploaded/taped them.

Console wrote:It's run by user clmfsh - you can try PM'ing them, but they haven't been on in a while, so they may not get it.

Thanks Console, I shall PM him/her now, I may edit them anyway, put them up & credit them to clmfsh & if he/she wants me to take them down I will do so.

EDIT: I just checked the users profile & noticed this:

Last visited: Tue Nov 22, 2005 11:28 pm

I'll give it a few days & if I hear anything I'll upload them anyway as it seems the forum member has since left this board.

I was hoping to have one of the 1998 shows up & ready for you ladies & gents this evening. However after spending 4-6 hours editing one (amongst doing several other things at a time) Audacity decided to crash meaning all that editing was for * all :x

I'll try & give it another go later this week.

A huge thank you to Console who has edited not only the show I mentioned above (which I had taken between 4-6 hours to edit only for Audacity to crash) but all four shows from Clmfsh's website: http://www.c4h10o.co.uk/chrismoyles/ Which are complete (with all the music still intact).

Relive the often talked about "The Early Bit" and also very early Breakfast Shows from 1998 (or as Chris calls them "The Breakfast Bit")

Also included on one of the shows is Dominic's infamous "Frothy Bevvy" incident (on the Friday 3rd October 1997 show, from about 38:10). Yes that clip that Chris plays on air every so often to embarrass Dominic is TWELVE years old this year 8O

Anyway download the files & enjoy :D

Thanks Again Console :D

Apologies for the mess on the front page at present, I'll sort that out soonish

Thanks to Johnny1989 and everyone else involved in editing those shows. I've downloaded most of them, and loving the nostalgia. I started listening to Moyles while he was on afternoons in around 2003, and I'd forgotten how different his style used to be back then. If people think he's controversial or offensive now, I'd love to hear what they'd say if they heard some of the things he said. Like in one of the 1998 best bits podcasts when he calls Dave 'chinky chonky' and 'slitty Vitty'. It's a shame that we seem to have regressed and become so easily offended, because Moyles really was at his best here when he had the creative freedom to say and do pretty much what he wanted. I must admit, today's show is sounding pretty stale and middle aged in comparison. Oh well...

I know, when I listened back I thought "oops" but to be honest it was 11 years ago & Dave takes no offence at all.

I should add that I am going to redo the September 98 one again over the weekend, at present it is in broadcast order but ends abruptly. What I plan to do is to increase it to the correct speed, and move the "*" bit (one of my favourite moments of all time) to the end of the "podcast" to give it a better ending.

I'm glad your enjoying them, hopefully there will be some new ones soon :D I've just got to bother to record some more
