I really like girls aloud and the Saturday's, I had to stop myself from doing the Lasso dance the other day, boy that was camp!

Hope you had a good time, some great photographs.

Not half as weird as Nicola. What the hell are they doing to her?! Does she really have to look that pale?!

And is Nadine holding some kind of puppet gizmo?

Yes she is, they sang Britney's 'Womaniser' and had the male dancers as 'puppet'

I tried to pick the best pictures of them but was difficult when they kept moving!

I think Nicola has beautiful skin - I wish I was so pure white - but it does look slightly odd in photos.

I went to see GA on their last tour this time last year and much as I love them, I have to say I was slightly disappointed. The set was short, they injected no personality into anything they did and their voices often sounded a bit off-key. I have the dvd of their previous live tour and they sound pretty much note perfect on that, so it made me wonder if technical trickery had been used in post-production or whether I just caught them on a bad day/tour. Either way, I left feeling a bit let down and I wouldn't pay to see them again.

Much much much technical trickery. There is often quite a lot used actually in the set as well - if you listen carefully at many gigs you will hear that although the people on the stage are actually singing there is also a pre-recorded full vocal track playing under the live vocal. It beefs up the sound a bit because a lot of studio artists don't really have the vocal depth you need to fill an auditorium and the sound technicians can only do so much. I know Girls Aloud do that, as do most manufactured acts and some solo performers, like Kylie, Madonna - and lots more. The gigs tend to be a lot better that way - and thats what matters I suppose, as long as the audience enjoy it.

I apparently have a very fine ear for music (discovered this accidentally in school when I aced some test they were giving us to determine who would be allowed to learn violin - I still refused to learn it, tho) and I can usually detect when there's a vocal recording, double tracking or or click-track under the live vocals. I didn't notice one when I saw GA live, altho I have heard them use it on tv. I think their problem was not so much lack of vocal strength as lack of range. I still think they make perfect pop records and amazing videos, I just wouldn't see them live again.
