I know Chris has made fun of George Lamb in the past, mainly his voice...but I've been listening to his 6Music show quite a bit lately, and it's actually quite good! :o

At first his voice did bug me a bit, it does sound a bit dalekish...but I soon got used to it. Listening to his show though, his style is VERY similar to Chris', maybe too similar for Chris' liking! He banters with his team, plays clipped sound effects and has regular features. He interacts with the listeners more though, nattering with them on the phone (without insulting them :P) and having a group of regular callers. He has alot more guests on than Moyles does too, although that seems to be the case for all the 6Music shows...how do they get so many guests in? Yesterday George Lamb had a band in to perform, Kristen Schaal from the Flight of the Conchords AND an FBI agent who was the first law enforcer to infiltrate the Hells Angels!

Anyways enough fanboyish-sounding ranting.

Anyone else listen to George Lamb's show? I was surprised to find that his show was quite good, from what Moyles said about Lamb I was expecting a pile of crap!

I came to it knowing all the criticism his show had been getting. However, as we all know, the majority opinion of radio DJs aren't necessarily true.
I've given it a try and it doesn't sound too bad. I think the clips he plays have meanings to what's being talked about (it's hard to explain, but if you listen you'll understand) but if you get used to it it's quite good. Saying that, 3.5 hours of radio a day is probably enough for me to listen to regularly.

I think George Lamb is cute but as soon as he opens his mouth it's all over. He talks (or rather shouts) sh1te. I'd still hit it, I'd just have to find a way to keep him quiet. Shouldn't be too difficult.

George Lamb is nothing more than a big pile of steaming dog pooh.

Awful man, awful voice

Apart from that, I am rather indifferent on the chap

Nicola, you would hit it? Such an old romantic :D

Yeah, I'd hit it, but not as hard as Alex Zane (see thread below). I'm not really known for my romanticism to be honest...

How exactly did you come to that conclusion? Have you heard how he opens his show at 10am?

Personally I'm loving his show more every day! Funny banter, childish use of sound effects, lots of good guests and NO BLOODY PLAYLIST! HALLELUJAH! What a joy it was to hear The Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever on the radio the other day :D

First saw him on TV and I'm still taking the meds. I don't dare listen to the radio show in case it triggers flashbacks.

I personally prefer his father 'Larry the...' of Gavin and Stacey and Eastenders fame. I think George is a bit of a 'Fearne and Reggie phenomenon', ie. face for telly (he's certainly pleasing on the eye), but not the personality for radio. It's a shame, because he seems like a nice chap, but his show is indeed rather dull.

Is there some basement in mediaworld where they're reusing the Dermot O'Leary moulds to chug out this latest stream of multi-media presenters?

Hmmm, wasn't very happy with Moyles badmouthing Lamb again today.

What exactly does Chris have against George? Am I missing something? As far as I'm aware, George doesn't say bad things about Moyles on his show...in fact he mentions Moyles' show sometimes, in a good way!

I find it slightly odd that Moyles badmouths people on his show alot...yet he gets all pissy whenever journalists have a go at him!

I dont know, Chris takes the mick out of himself as well as others, and does so in a jokey way, whereas people who do it to him are quite serious about it.

That's how i see it anyway. Plus everything aimed at Chris is about his weight usually, whereas chris takes the piss out of things people do/say/act.
