Just means lots of pre-recording for her! Shame she does that.

Athough who will be covering for Vernan when he's on paternity leave, assuming thats coming up? I suspect a few shifts heading Greg James' way!

Why should he not? Paternity leave is important for families just starting out, I'd hate to have you as a manager if you feel that's the case for every new father whether it's their first or fourth child.

Wouldn't make any difference if he was your manager under those circumstances - providing paternity leave is a legal obligation of employers, they can't choose not to.

The title of this thread should be "New weekend breakfast DJ has..."

Am I right in thinking that the standard minimum paternity leave in the UK is for two weeks?

I'm not sure - it certainly used to be two weeks, but there was talk that it would be changed to 2 weeks paid and the option of a further 4 weeks unpaid, I think. Not sure what it is at the moment.

it looks like we've got atleast a month of chappers and dave with nihal and possibly vernon.
I personally don't see vernon taking paternaty leave straight away due too his tv commitments. Much like chris did with his tv show.

Actually as far as I remember, new fathers don't have to take the paternity leave as soon as the baby is born if they don't want to - thay can have it at any time in the first few months.

Compared to European law I think American employment legislation is a bit primitive in some areas. That's not to say I think that the UK and Europe have got it completely right you understand........
