The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Its right there above what you just wrote. Why do you need someone else to remind you of what is so self evident?

ThinkofaNumber wrote:I post on some other forums, the nicest one I post on is a lovely place, no swearing unless totally totally necessary, nobody gangs up or takes sides and it's great.

I suggest you spend more time there and less here if that's what you prefer. Seems a pretty obvious course of action, but you apparently need to have obvious stuff pointed out to you.

ThinkofaNumber wrote:One I post on actually has a problem with people taking threads off topic, like you all seem to enjoy doing here. :?

It happens in two sets of circumstances - first, if the thread is a silly tpoic and no-one is interested in doing anything other than taking the piss, and second (as has happened here) when the subject of the original topic has run its course and everyone has had their say. We tend to chat then.

ThinkofaNumber wrote:On another is a guy who posts stuff that I sometimes find very hard to work out, the spelling is dire and alot of the words are made up I think, but he has a vast amount of knowledge about what he posting on, and he is also very understanding about 'how' other people post.

We have a few like that here - they don't tend to get any grief because most people here can tell the difference between a tool and an intelligent person who makes a few mistakes with writing.

ThinkofaNumber wrote:I think you should let up on poor old Ian, he only came here and tried to join in.

See above - we can tell the difference. If he was an erratic poster with a lot of good stuff to say, no -one would have had a go at him at all, and the small amount of decent content his posting has had so far has been pointed out and commented on by several people.

ThinkofaNumber wrote:Ganging up and going on and on at someone is bullying! :(

Yes it is - and that is not what has happened here. When having your mistakes pointed out to you, and having people engage when you respond to that aggressively (as he did), can be described as bullying (which, in its real sense, is something I know an awful lot about from many different angles), that is evidence of people being over sensitive and relishing the opportunity to be offended and upset. Much as Daily Mail readers enjoy being outraged by trivia.

I love this bleeding heart depiction of Ian_k as some kind of down-trodden oppressed young lad, just trying to make his humble way in an uncaring world, only to get sand kicked in his face at every turn.

The guy came on here spouting 90% unintelligible crap, got slapped for it like anyone and everyone else, and responded by telling everyone to * off and running back to the Judge Jules forum to whine about it. If you're waiting for people to feel sorry for him, you're going to be waiting a very long time.

No I am not waiting for people to feel sorry for Ian, I just came and looked here because he was moaning that there were some grammar police here. Before I looked here I said I thought that you were all probably having a laugh tbh and that it was probably just a different kind of humour to his own, but then when I eventually had a look here it was apparent that you were having a laugh, but it was AT him and not with him, I just feel that's a shame, and I'm sure you know how it is, when you read a message board with no intention to reply but then suddenly feel an urge to make your own point. So I did.

I'm still sticking with my original post regarding the spelling/grammar issue and Ian K, my opinion hasn't changed, and I do think you all ganged up a bit.

I'm also aware that I may now and again used this 'so-called' txt speak when I post, so don't bother pointing it out to me every time if you can help it, personally txt speak is far worse than the odd FFS!

Anyway I am a bit bored of all this now, I made my point, you all made yours, and the weather looks like it might be a bit better today at last!

Of course we were laughing at him not with him, he wasn't being witty, he was being ridiculous.
#387267
Nonsense. You need to rethink your somewhat flabby interpretation of "bullying".
#387273
You did. But when something hasn't been done at all, it is still wrong to imply that it has been done even a little bit.

I'll laugh with him if/when he ever posts something funny. And legible.

ThinkofaNumber, if you don't like how this board works don't visit it. It isn't going to change, and the internet's a big place, you'll have no problem finding somewhere you feel more comfortable.

But please, if you are going to stay around, for the love of god stop whining about bullying. The guy's not a kid (despite his actions), and he hasn't been treated any differently to anyone else who acts on here the way he does - and he hasn't been bullied by any rational definition of the term. Get a thicker skin and get over it.

There's a better one knocking around somewhere - I think Cat has it?
#387289
Foot-loose has, I know that - this one you mean?

Trust you to pick up on the fashion accessories................nice.

Everyone loves a good scrap.......except when i'm in a grumpy mood but then people on here ususally tell me to * off which 9/10 i deserve. The other time when I don't deserve it I just think "Well they are just a useless bucnh of internet tossers so what do they know anyway, besides it's CM.net, it's to be expected anyway"...

I love you guys.
