this is just a question on what happened on that day when it came too his show.

I know that when the july 7th show when chris was on holiday. Scott mills was on in the morning and then stuck around too do the drivetime show as j.k and joel couldn't make it in.

My question is what happened during chris' show on 9/11. I would guess that the show would of started at 3. A hour before everything kicked off. Did the show change and how did chris change and react too what happened.

I know it was a terrible day. And i know chris would of been effected.

I know Mark & Lard were on air at the actual time it happened cos I was listening. According to wiki the first attack started at 8.46am, which would be about 2pmish I'm guessing. They stopped what they were doing and were basically watching the events unfold on a tv in the studio and saying how awful it looked. Not realising the severity of the situation, I remember being annoyed that they weren't doing Lard's Classic Cuts. But I don't remember what happened when Chris came on air - I guess I must have stopped listening.

On Tuesday September 11th 2001, the terrorist attacks in America occurred just before Chris was due to go on the air at 3pm UK time. A decision was made not to do the usual show. Instead, Chris played non stop music, interrupted only by regular Newsbeat updates from Claire Bradley. He was wildly praised for his handling of the situation. The next three shows were much the same - featuring emails from listeners, stories from eye witnesses and the latest from Claire.

Yeah, I remember reading that somewhere too. It was a little bit later than I had guessed - I wasn't sure if the attack times quoted on wiki were central or Eastern US time. I think I must have realised at the time that they would just be playing music and switched off - after all, none of us listen to Chris for the music! but it was appropriate in the circumstances.

thank you for the information. I apologise i had my times mixed up. I remember finnishing school and getting home at 3.40 and turned the tv on. Where i didn't think that it had all kicked off.

For those who asked then. I am from Sunny Warrington. A very plesent town in between manchester and liverpool. For people who come and visit. We have the oldest and one of the biggest indoor markets at very good prices. We have a very vibrent night life and i would recomend coming too watch warrington wolves at the halliwell jones stadium. Although we are 10th. We play wigan warriors tomorrow on sky and the atmosphere is usually second too none. I would recomend coming watching a very entertaining team.

I'll never forget that show because Moyles's personality was so different that it was like listening to another person... sensible, serious and matter of fact.
I really respected the way he behaved. He was like a reassuring voice to any listener who may have been alone at the time that the situation was happening.
I missed the start of the show.
