And I never realized that QI is a word you can use in Scrabble. (Which was annoying when I had a Q left at the end of the game, and looked in the rules to see the scoring and it specifically mentions the word!)

The Americans spell Cheque, Check (I noticed this once in an episode of Friends, when I used to like it about 10 years ago).

Of all the words Queue has four letters more than it realistically needs (as proved on an episode of Room 101) ;)

And in America at the end of a meal why do they always ask for the 'Cheque'? Shouldn't you ask for the bill or do you get payed to eat at restaurants over there?

I'm not slagging off the Americans in restaurants. They tip better than we do apparently. Something I found out here when I suggest a 15% tip was reasonable.

When were we slagging off Americans in restaurants?

Anywhere that includes the tip in the bill will find me removing it from the bill. If I think the service warrants it, I tip - usually around 15%, although I have been known to tip a lot more when the service has really made a difference to my evening. If it doesn't, I don't. It almost never doesn't, but I still make a point of tipping separately from the bill. Adding any discretionary amount to a tariff without asking ought to be illegal.

I admit it's probably not going to be perfect but it might deter some of our frequent text speakers from posting in text speak if they are plagued by a deluge of red squiggly lines! :D

Ah yes it is the American-English one (Characterisation for examples says the correct spelling is with a Z, silly Americans ;) )

I hope your pronouncing Z as Zee and not Zed
