The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I agree, about ten years ago, when I was young & naive, I thought they should get rid of it, however I now realise what a huge mistake that would be.

I think when Moyles is done on the breakfast show, he will disappear for a while - marry Sophie, maybes have a family etc etc then come back in a few years on Radio Two with another, calmer version of the show he has just now.

Steve Wright pretty much does the same show as Moyles just now for an older generation.

See that would be a lovely outcome. Just not yet.

I can't really think where he would go but I hope his career stays with radio.

I doubt that would matter. I was a regular listener of Chris Evans' Radio 1 Breakfast show and can recall him making fun of Virgin, Radio 2 etc, and he went straight to Virgin next, and of course finally Radio 2 10 years later. A little like what foot-loose described, only without the happy family stuff for most of that!

Well he didnt exactly "go to" Virgin - he bought the company if I remember rightly. And I don't think Chris makes fun of Radio 2 except in the gentlest way - he has utmost respect for the station as far as I can tell. He's far ruder about some of his Radio 1 colleagues.

They've all done it, Mark & Lard used to slate other Radio 1 DJ's (on their last few months on the show they kept saying "Edith & Colin will be great" but you could tell they were taking the piss.

Jon Holmes on 6Music is worst for this, from listening to his show over the last three years he's taken the piss out of Chris Moyles, Scott Mills, Sara Cox, Ken Bruce (He even has a feature, Kenbrucemaster, revolving around him), Terry Wogan, Sarah Kennedy, Mark Radcliffe, Stuart Maconie, George Lamb, Giddeon Coe & Craig Charles, to mention a few & then he gets onto politicians, comedians, etc.

It's all just in jest though, none of it is vicious, same I feel with Moyles as well when he slates Capital, Virgin, etc. Afterall Chris worked at Capital for just over a year & it's only because Richard Park didn't fight to keep him that he went to Radio 1 (IIRC in his autobiography he mentions that although he was pleased with being offered the job at Radio 1 he felt it may have been a bit too early & would have liked to have stayed a Capital for a couple more years).

There were a couple of months separating the two events - first breakfast show in October 1997 and bought the station in December 1997.
