They haven't changed it, I just made a very, very, very bad mistake. :D

I just take offence with the fact that Colin's show recieved little to no plugging on Radio 1, except mentions from other DJ's. Grimshaw is being pushed forward as one of the main lineup. Like in all cases, I blame the management.

I feel sick.

I heard "...Stay up with Grimshaw" today. Have they changed it?

Tune out with Grimshaw. Turn off with Grimshaw. Turn over with Grimshaw. Pick one BBC and go with it, it's more accurate.

It's an absolute travesty what they've done with that show, Grimshaw is dreadful. Huw Stevens must have been mightily pissed off not to have been given it, I know I would have been if I was him.

I can't see it lasting six months. Even when it gets trailed in other shows the presenters are audibly sniggering.

I agree with this entirely. It actually makes me a bit angry.

On the other hand, it's sort of nice that Colin's show was a hidden gem, whereas Grimmy's show is overhyped tripe.*

*I haven't actually listened to it yet, but will trust the opinions here until I do.

I tried to listen to this last night and nearly injured myself. Grimshaw is a pointless and talentless arsehole. A fetid wanker. I do not have the vocabulary to describe the utter comtempt I feel for this brainless gimp.

They have turned a timeslot which included the stuff of legends* (Peel, Palace of Glittering Delights), into yet another lowest common denominator, playlist-oriented, cheap and nasty pile of throwaway toss. Every single * involved in getting this to air should be shot, buried in a deep pit, dug up, and shot again, until everybody else at the station gets the message.

*this may be hyperbole.

Ah that hit the spot, cheers.

God curse the day that muppet arrived at the station.

One thing that drives me mad about Grimshaw is the way he describes records he likes as "sick" (that's the latest synonym for "good", for anyone who doesn't know), in an obvious attempt to reach his teen audience. I have never heard anyone else in their mid-twenties use the word in such a context.

I wonder if he does this on his new show too?

My brother used the term "sick" for a very brief period of which I told him what a twat he sounded, thankfully he grew out of that very quickly :D

Mr Rogers, what the posts under yours are alluding to is the fact that you appear to be making a claim with no evidence to back it up. Please don't do this - don't say anything if you aren't prepared to name your sources.

Mine was "wicked" back in the late 80's, which I always attributed to Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles but was actually used by Ace when she traveled with the Seventh Doctor. Odd thing about that though was back then I hated Doctor Who

Now don't get me wrong I agree with most of the negative comments made here about Grimshaw, but this simply isn't true Colin had an ad campaign much in the same vein as Grimshaw "Colin is moving" they were plastered all over the station just as Grimmy's ads are and in fact Colin had a couple of adverts on the telly-which Grimshaw has not yet and none have been announced as of yet either.

(think that was banned because of Richard Hammond or something though)

Just caught the opening of the show - how disappointing.

Fresh - not how to describe an Arctic Monkeys track.

And he's not a legend for playing two songs which are basically playlist material.

Before "wicked" was "lush".

They use "lush" these days as well, sometimes.

When I was a kid everything you liked had to be "bad". Then "well" was added to every description for emphasis - as in "that was well bad". Then that evolved into the additional use of "bad" to emphasise a comment - as in "that was bad dodgy". The stupidest thing I heard was someone once say "wow, that was well bad the good".

Not all language development is progress is it.

My favourite was when one of my mates used say "That's well raar" which apparently means Good.

My brother incidently used to take the piss out of someone in his year of school/sixth form for using the term "nang":

"That film was well Nang" would be a term his mate would use

But there was also "nang-a-lang" or "pure nangness" which both meant greatness apparently  The youth of today....
