The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Another thing which irks me slightly about the live feeds (and computer related features in general) is when the DJ's say 'If you are at a PC at work...go to this address now!'

Only a slight irk, but how many people do you know who can A.) Use the internet on a work PC and B.) Visit non work-related sites on it?

Meh, as long as they post highlights online which I can watch when I get home, I'll be happy.

I'm sure in the first week they will do some visual stuff just to encourage people to log on and see it for themselves but they've always done stuff / talked about things where having a camera would be advantageous. Fire at Will is a classic example. Throwing things at someone on radio shouldn't work but it does, having cameras is just a bonus really.

That's the beauty of radio, sometimes you have to use your own imagination unlike TV where it's all done for you. Especially with some of the classic Doctor Who episodes.

Of all the people I know that work in an office, none have of them have any restrictions on their internet access.

Our PC's at work are very much restricted in terms of internet access. Can't check lottery numbers (filtered for gaming/gambling), cant access BBC news videos or audio, certainly not iplayer, Ebay is a no no, or Youtube (obvious bandwidth usage). All of these sites have nothing to do with my line of work, so it's not surprising they're blocked. My solution is to take my laptop in and use my phone as a modem, it works a treat! I have a fair usage limit of 500MB of data with my phone, but I've never (yet.....) been contacted regarding exceeding this, which I do on a regular basis.

I reckon some of the magic is lost when you can actually see the studio. But then again, it's not like I'm being forced to watch it. I rarely look at the webcams, for example.

We didn't until about February this year when Facebook & You Tube were banned as "virus kept getting through", which as I understand has happened with a few people on Facebook outside our office since our then IT manager told us. However it's effected BBC iPlayer :x

My work internet is totally unfiltered also. So many Uni staff (clerical and academic) have got into Facebook/Twitter in a big way that there would be uproar if that changed.

I do all my internet shopping at work, and it's also the only place I actually view any Radio One video/cam stuff as my own laptop is too slow.

Well, neilt0 was the kind soul who recorded the streams at the beginning of the year and shared them around but, as was previously commented, 6 weeks is big commitment, so who knows?!

I for one would be extremely appreciative if he or someone else were to record the streams this time round.

That was very kind of him but I meant will I be allowed to watch them live. Remember? Last time Moyles said I was in 'Gillingham' and that was how I was watching live. I just wanted to see if anyone knew if they were going to block any live feed for those of us outside the UK.

Ah, yes, I remember. I guess only time will tell, it's not something that's going to feature in their press releases.

Although, Simon Mayo's show is being streamed most days up until June 19th, so give that a go - surely it's very likely that the same process is being applied to that programme as will be the case for Moyles in a couple of weeks?

If I remember correctly Sunny you were only in Gillingham for a couple of days until the tech guys "relocated" you. I wouldn't bank on the same thing this time round, it's a much longer project and they'll have learnt a lot from the first trial. Still worth a try of course.

If any clever types can cap them it'd be great not only for overseas listeners / viewers, but also those of us who can't listen / watch during the day. Thirty shows could be pushing it though.

If they block the video steam to overseas "Viewers" I will PM you with details on how to set-up Foxy Proxy on your computer so you can bypass the block and watch the feed live. 8)

I will try Mayo's show, Richard. Good idea. Yeah, Ed, I get around. L.A., Gillingham, San Diego. I'm all over the place. Thanks, Danny!

I'm recording now! I didn't find out about this until Chris twittered at 8am -- I normally listen to the show via Listen Again, not live.

I'm going to try to cap every day, but it would be wise for someone else to do so as well as a backup. The best app to cap with is "Replay Media Catcher".
I may oversleep, or the stream may go down or whatever.

As I missed from 6:30am to 8:07am, has anyone else got a cap to share for today's show?

You're a star. I can't get access to this during the day, so will be downloading anything you can share. Thanks a million.

If you do, would you mind sharing it? I wouldn't mind having a crack at recording it as well.

On a related note, how are the team looking this morning - have they all tarted themselves up for the occasion? Is Dave in his tux?

This is a work PC so the whole thing's blocked. With the URL I'd try and find some way of doing a scheduled record from my home machine. There are a couple of Mac apps which I've got in mind, if not I'll crank up the old Windows laptop. Either way, I can't use this machine.
