The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I'm sure she'd come across better if she was actually being interviewed, or at least spoken to in some way other than suggestively. I don't usually mind Chris's flirting with the guests, but when that's all there is it quickly becomes tedious. Katie seems to be articulate and animated so I'm sure she'd be capable of being entertaining. Its not always Chris's fault, but this one is down to him I think.

It seems she agrees

On Twitter: "In LDN hanging @ radio 1 hanging out with this super pervy DJ named Chris Mills? Anybody know who this is?"

However I'm famous for my inability to detect ironing, so maybe I've misunderstood.

Yes you have.

When she mentioned drugs there was a huge foot in mouth moment...I'd love to have seen Rachel's face at the time!

That's the risk when you can only listen to the show vicariously.

Ok, I'm giving Chris a little more credit here - he is perving all over her but she is being pretty awkward, I think he's getting a little bit irritated and he seems well aware that she is liable to say something deliberately offensive at any point. I don't imagine Rachel is enjoying it much either.

I'm sure I heard her call him a twat really early on in the 'interview' but they were all talking over each other so I might have misheard. You really do get the impression that she's quite on the edge, and that she's liable to say something that would make Ofcom's ears prick up! Not the best guest they've ever had in my opinion!!

No - I heard that too, I'm sure she called him a Twat.

She's trying too hard, too late. It would have made for a better feature if she had bothered to get some - even a tiny bit - of information about the show beforehand. Its one thing not having heard of Chris, thats fair enough, but she isn't even aware that she's on the premier radio show in the country, and surely she'd have acquitted herself better if she'd had an inkling of that.

She can't sing either.

That was just painful. I didn't enjoy that one bit.

I might be wrong but I got the impression that Chris is quite pleased its over.

Thought Lewis Hamilton was great - I agree with in4308, it was nice to hear him enthusiastic, asking how things worked on the show etc.

I only heard the start of the Katie Perry interview, not really a fan of hers, worth listening again anyway??

Can't wait to listen back. Hope they don't edit any of it before it goes up on iPlayer.

I think there might be a lot of mopping up to do after that. A great opportunity for the Daily Mail reading public to do what they do best I fear.

For the drug foot-in-mouth moment, yeah. But then switch off after it.

Before it gets jumped on and twisted in the press, what was actually said in the drug foot-in-mouth moment?

They were doing the voice changer stuff with her, and she said that if anyone was listening who was doing drugs, then they'd be really freaked out by it. They then told her that it was Radio 1's Drug Awareness Week...

Alan Carr on the show tomorrow.

Must be that time of the month *

*In a publicising way of course!

Wahey, already you're conditioned to premptively backlashing against an imagined media backlash.

Listening to Hamilton has a worse mind-altering affect than any crystal meth I've tried.

Damn, I missed that. I got a phonecall from Accounts just when they were starting to play around with the voice machine.

It's up on iPlayer now, which is about the usual time, so there can't be too many concerns.

I was thinking that as I was doing it. I'm still not sure if its funny or sad.

The bosses must be banging their heads against their desks, All Americen Rejects have just made a reference to taking drugs as well

Why? Are references to drug banned during Drug Awareness Week or whatever it is. Or only references not pre-approved by Radio 1 management? Smacks of the BBC walking on eggshells as normal. Oh god, I said smack.
