You lot are mad. Katy Perry was excellent. She was up for the show, was interested but was just too much for Moyles. Simple as that.

Moyles needs to adapt to the interviewee, but he cant do it. The "interview" was weird and slightly awkward, but it was good anyway. I like Katy Perry and I cant understand any criticism of her judging from this show.

Good example of showing how different interviewing styles can be! Considering Moyles made fun of Lamb in the past, I think he could learn a few things about interviewing from him! When Ross Kemp was on Chris' show, it was quite a serious interview, but also very enjoyable. Chris CAN interview properly when he wants/has to. When David Beckham went in, that interview was so serious, being at the time of the whole Rebecca Loos thing, you wouldn't have thought it was Chris interviewing. The Lewis Hamilton interview wasn't all jokes and trying to be funny, but the Katy Perry one couldn't have been more different, and i found the latter to be a total train wreck in comparison.

the katy perry interview was total car crash radio. I'm sure many people didn't feel comfortable with that interview. I got the feeling that chris was going through the motions too get the interview over with.

Oh yeah. I had a look on twitter. And both katy perry and chris's twitter have exactly what was said and it wasn't just for the radio.

I think that the interview was possibly worse than drew barrymore. (i think.)

Have to say that interview was not total crash radio, however it was not that far off, the chemistry between Chris and Katy was just not there, it was awful interview and the longer it went the more uncomfortable it felt for Katy. Chris should really learn that flirting with female guests is asking for trouble and I really think he should stop it, it was damn awful.

I don't think its news to anyone that Chris seems only able to interview women on one level. Its a shame really, and I'm sure he could do something about it if he thought it was a problem (as so many other people do), but I can't see him acknowledging that its a problem. And 9 million listeners - maybe it isn't!

I've been racking my brains trying to think of any interviews with female guests that were more down to earth but I'm struggling. He was pretty good with Carol Vorderman, both on the TV show and in an old radio one, but then she is practically like an aunt to him from what I understand. Davina maybe?

Thats fine, but it means that Chris is only going to be able to do good radio with certain individuals - and if he would just dial down the perv and dial up the research and decent questions then he would be able to make great radio with a much wider variety of female guests.

Couldn't agree more Yuds, for those that listen regularly, you know which 1s he's going to mess around with and that's fine. I think he should maybe 'test the water' with new guests they have on, especially if he's never met them before.

I was thinking of Billie Piper as well, but it's the same problem as with Davina - the only reason the flirt /perv thing is less is because they're already friends, and even then he still plays on it.

Sometimes it works really well - Mel B's interviews are usually really funny for example - but you need to have more than one style.

Maybe he does it because he genuinely believes that's what people find most entertaining, rather than because that's the only way he knows how, but I'm not so sure.

To be fair, most guests don't stay for long as they usually have a packed schedule full of places to go and do more interviews. Except for people like Jimmy Carr, who seem to hang around for ages!
