It maybe a rubbish London paper, but thought the article would make a few people smile

http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/showbiz/a ... article.do

especially a certain line:
' "I don't think Jonathan Ross has bounced back from the Andrew Sachs scandal. Three million viewers, when I get over five million? If I were him I'd shoot myself."

That certainly raised our spirits here at The Eye. Tell you what Piers, even though you are not Jonathan Ross, why don't you shoot yourself anyway! '

The journalist raises a good point though. If he was getting three million viewers before the ban and now he's getting three million after, how the hell is that not bouncing back.

I'm pretty amazed Piers Moron got five million for his show, but then - again, as the journalist says - it's a safe bet they weren't tuning in for him.

No no no no! That's what he wants. He wants to be that kind of person you "love to hate", when actually he's a real *. As Foot-loose says, he should be doing a spell in Parkhurst.

I know perfectly well what he wants to be - and he's doing it so well that I have to admire him for it. I think we have to move on from him dodging justice being served back when he was Murdoch's boy.

He's now a pantomime villain and you're the willing audience member booing him when he enters the stage. The louder the boos the better his performance becomes. Who wants to go to a pantomime where you can't have a good boo?

"Piers Morgan, whatever will he do next?"

Well, it was The Mirror, but I suppose that's being pedantic.

No I'm not. I don't watch.

I think you're missing the point. From what I've read, most people on here are well aware of the persona he's creating and the game he's playing, but can't stand him regardless. You're describing Simon Cowell.

His twattery really started at News of The World with the privacy invasion that the Press Complaints Commission try to slap him for.

Just as well, the queues are too long and they're full of kids.

The PCC are another matter... they are a toothless organisation run by newspaper editors.

Simon Cowell doesn't have a persona devised to whip up public interest in himself. I find him quite a nice genuine bloke.

Yes, dodging their ineffectual 'justice' only served to harden him whereas most others would have been tamed.

How do you work that one out? Journalists regularly manage to dodge the wrath of the PCC because newspaper editors don't wish to rap themselves on the knuckles. How would that tame most of them?

Yes I too find the PCC toothless. The best that can happen is that the adjudicated complaint is upheld and apologies made blah blah, which there are plenty of. Instead of "been tamed" I should have used "attempt sincere apology, but carry on regardless". It's his (or anyone's) unashamed ambition for infamy I find remarkable, from a 'clinical' point of view.

I recently reported the Daily Mail to the PCC for using an obviously photoshopped picture in a story about Prince Harry. I recieved a quick reply, saying they were already investigating, having recieved other complaints.

I recently checked the story, and the photo has suddenly changed! The photo has now become two, instead of two pictures badly photoshopped together. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/ar ... Flack.html

Not sure if that counts as a success or not :(

I was under the impression you could only complain to the PCC if you are the subject of the article you are complaining about.
#390607
PCC Website wrote:Q. "I am not directly involved in the story. Can I complain?"

A."The PCC will normally only consider complaints from people who are directly
affected by the matters about which they are complaining. Occasionally, the
Commission may at its discretion consider a complaint from somebody who is not
directly involved – but only if it raises a matter of significant public interest."

I don't think I blame him for managing to get a significantly better career outta his * - in the same way I didn't blame Jade for being a media whore. It's not their fault that they do what they do to make money - fair play to them.

The fact that they CAN do it gets seriously on my tits though - Mogan should be in jail for being a *, not getting paid millions for being a dick.
